Zamberlin previously spent nine seasons as an assistant at Massachusetts (1987-90), Eastern Wash­ ington (1992-94) and Richmond (1995-96). He played seven seasons in the NFL with the New England Patri­ ots (1979-82) and Kansas City Chiefs (1983-85).
