ThecollectionsofmusicfromtheheydaysoftheDetmoldcourttheatreandthelocalcourtorchestrainthenineteenth century(around18251875)holdbytheLippischeLandesbibliothekDetmoldareofnationalimportanceandparticularly suitedtoexploreanddemonstratetheextensiveopportunitiesoftheMEIformatbecausetheirmaterialcomponentshave beenretainedinaremarkablevarietyandcompleteness.Someofthematerialsshallbemorethoroughlyindexedinan exemplarywaytoillustratetheadvantagesofdeeplyindexedmaterialscomparedwithtraditionalcataloguerecordings. BenefitswillresultfromtheuseoftheFRBRmodel,whichhasbeenimplementedinMEI2013.Theuseofitallows,for instance,amoreprecisedescriptionofperformancematerialsandtheirtreatmentwithinahistoricalprocess. ThelongtermobjectiveistocreateanMEIͲandTEIͲbasedgenericmodel,whichcouldbealsousedforindexingother comparablecollections.Forfurtherresearch,allresultsaretobestoredinadigitalenvironment.Theywillbepresentedin anopenstructureinordertoallowextensionsbylocalaswellasexternalcollectiondataandtoenableinterdisciplinary researchwithintheseholdings. Thelecturewillgiveanoverviewovertheprojectobjectivesandapproachesandwillpresentfirstexperienceswiththe creationoftheintendedmodel.
