Long Island University Brooklyn Campus Department of Social Work Full Time, Tenure-Track Assistant Professor Long Island University, Brooklyn Campus invites applicants for a full time, tenure track Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Work commencing fall 2010. The successful candidate will teach in our CSWE-accredited MSW program, which has concentrations in the following areas: Child and Family Welfare, Substance Abuse, Gerontology, and Not-for-Profit Management. Excellence in teaching, sustained scholarly activity, and departmental and institutional service required for retention and promotion. Requirements include an MSW with two years post graduate experience. A PhD/DSW in social work, or a related field, highly recommended, but ABD considered. Demonstrated teaching excellence at the college level and ability to conduct research and publish are also required. Competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. About the Department: The department of social work at LIU has a 12 year old CSWE- accredited undergraduate social work program with approximately 100 majors and a 4 year old accredited MSW program with a new concentration in child and family welfare. There are approximately 160 MSW students. About the University: LIU is a private university established in 1926, one of the fastest growing and most ethnically diverse campuses in the metropolitan area is located in the heart of downtown Brooklyn, NY and offers over 195 academic programs, serving roughly 8000 students.
