FILED May 13, 2021 STATE GRAND JURY JUDGE SUPERIOR COURT OF NEW JERSEY LAW DIVISION – CRIMINAL State Grand Jury Number SGJ753-21-6 Superior Court Docket 21-5-69-S STATE OF NEW JERSEY ) v. ) INDICTMENT JUSTICE CHAMBERS ) LAWRENCE BRANTLEY ) and ) VICTOR TORRES ) The Grand Jurors of and for the State of New Jersey, upon their oaths, present that: COUNT ONE (Unlawful Possession of a Firearm – Second Degree) VICTOR TORRES on or about September 20, 2020, at the Township of Hamilton, in the County of Mercer, elsewhere, and within the jurisdiction of this Court, knowingly did possess a certain weapon, that is, a .40 caliber S&W Taurus semi-automatic pistol, serial number SMR11704, without having first obtained a permit to carry same as provided in N.J.S.A. 2C:58-4, contrary to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 2C:39- 5b, and against the peace of this State, the government and dignity of the same. 1 COUNT TWO (Unlawful Possession of a Firearm – Second Degree) JUSTICE CHAMBERS AND LAWRENCE BRANTLEY on or about September 20, 2020, at the Township of Hamilton, in the County of Mercer, elsewhere, and within the jurisdiction of this Court, knowingly did possess a certain weapon, that is, a .38 caliber Colt Cobra Special Revolver, serial number B70276, without having first obtained a permit to carry same as provided in N.J.S.A. 2C:58-4, contrary to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 2C:39- 5b, and against the peace of this State, the government and dignity of the same. 2 COUNT THREE (Possession of a Defaced Firearm – Fourth Degree) JUSTICE CHAMBERS and LAWRENCE BRANTLEY on or about September 20, 2020, at the Township of Hamilton, in the County of Mercer, elsewhere, and within the jurisdiction of this Court, knowingly did possess a prohibited weapon, that is, a .38 caliber Colt Cobra Special Revolver with a defaced serial number, contrary to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-3d, and against the peace of this State, the government and dignity of the same. 3 COUNT FOUR (Certain Persons Not to Have Weapons– Second Degree) LAWRENCE BRANTLEY on or about September 20, 2020, at the Township of Hamilton, in the County of Mercer, elsewhere, and within the jurisdiction of this Court, having been convicted of the crime of Second Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon in Mercer County, on Accusation number MER200500167A; and/or Second Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon in Mercer County, on Accusation number MER200500168A, did purchase, own, possess, or control the following firearm: a .38 caliber Colt Cobra Special Revolver, serial number B70276, contrary to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-7b, and against the peace of this State, the government and dignity of the same.
