DAY 1: SIEM REAP ARRIVAL (-/-/-) Upon arrival at Siem Reap International Airport, warmly welcome from our representative and transfer to hotel for check in. WELCOME TO MILLENNIUM OLD RUINS OF THE KHMER EMPIRE DAY 2: ANGKOR ARCHAELOGICAL PARK (B/L/-) Angkor, is one of the most important archaeological sites in Southeast Asia. It extends over approximately 500 square kilometers and contains many temples, hydraulic structures (dykes, basins, canals, reservoirs) as well as communication routes. For several centuries, Angkor, was the center of the Khmer Kingdom.Temples like Angkor Wat, Bayon, Preah Khan and Ta Prohm, are exemplars of Khmer architecture, closely linked to their geographical context as well as being imbued with symbolic significance. In the morning, visit Angkor Wat. It was built in the first half of the 12th century (113-5BC). Estimated construction time of the temple is around 30 years by King Suryavarman II, dedicated to Vishnu (Hindu), replica of Angkor Thom style of art, known as one of biggest religious temple and one of the Wonders of the World. Climbing up on the top give you a magnificent landscape view in panorama of Angkor City. After lunch, continue our tour to Royal Enclosure -Angkor Thom, the last capital of Khmer Empire, a fortified city enclosing residences of priest, officials of the palace and military, as well as buildings for administration of the kingdom. Visit Bayon. Discovery the epic stories crafted on the walls of The Terrace of The Elephant / Leper King before we proceed to explore the jungle temple of Ta Prohm. Before we end our temples tour, make a visit to Phnom Bakheng for its beautiful sunset. Enter and leave Phnom Bakheng by climbing a long steep path with some steps on the east side of the monument (67m). *depending on your preference, you may request for sunrise, sunset or both subjected to weather condition on the day of tour. DAY 3: KULEN MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK (B/L/-) After breakfast, we begin a journey to Kulen Mountain National Park, known as ‘Phnom Kulen’ by the locals, is the mountain on which King Javarman II initiated the royal "god of the king's linga cult in 802 AD, declaring a unified and independent Khmer Empire under a single ruler and beginning what would later become known as the Angkor period. We will have a quick stop to visit a local market The site is known for its carvings representing fertility and its waters hold special significance to the people of Cambodia until present. Just a few inches under the surface of the water, over 1000 carvings of Yoni and Linga are etched into the sandstone riverbed. The waters are regarded as holy, given the sacred carvings which also include a stone representation of the Hindu god Vishnu lying on his serpent Ananta, with his wife Lakshmi at his feet. A lotus flower protrudes from Vishnu's navel bearing the god Brahma. The river then ends with a beautiful waterfall, regarded highly by Cambodian people as a sacred location as well as great tour destination. DAY 4: SIEM REAP – BATTAMBANG CITY (B/-/D) After breakfast, we will check out and travel to Battambang city. It takes approximately 3 hours but we will stop at Klalanh to visit local market, before heading for lunch at your own expenses at the local restaurant, upon reaching Battambang, check in to hotel. We will rest for awhile before our tour in the afternoon. Battambang has not endless things to offer but still worth to spend around 2 days. The most impressive fact was the kindness of the people of Battambang and its not overcrowded by tourists. Bamboo Train that whizzing along the click-clacking rails is a huge amount of fun. From O Dambong, 3.7km east of Battambang’s old French bridge (Wat Kor Bridge), the train bumps 7km southeast to O Sra Lav along warped, misaligned rails and vertiginous bridges left by the French. The journey takes 20 minutes each way, with a 20-minute stop at O Sra Lav in between. Next, we will visit Phnom Sampov Phnom Sampov is a natural and historical site located along National Road 57 about 12km from the provincial town. Atop 100-meter-high mountain stands a pagoda and three natural carves: Pkasla, Lakhaon and Aksopheak.
