Maned Wolves Are Found in the Grasslands of South America! They Use Their Long Legs and Large Ears to Hunt for Small Prey Like Rodents and Birds on the Grasslands

Maned Wolves are found in the grasslands of South America! They use their long legs and large ears to hunt for small prey like rodents and birds on the grasslands. Despite their name they are not actually wolves, they are most closely related to another South American species, the Bush Dog! Communicate with Smells Maned Wolves, spend most of their lives alone, so to com- municate they will leave a scent similar to a skunk to tell other wolves they are in the area. They will also roar-bark. Fruit Eating Carnivores Maned Wolves, unlike most other members of the dog family, are omnivores! Up to 70% of their diet is plants! One of their favorite foods is the loberia, also called the “fruit of the wolf” or wolf apple!
