This paper reports four species of the genus Conocephalus from Hainan, China, including Conocephalus (Xiphidion) hainanensis sp. nov. and two new records: C. (Anisoptera) maculatus (Le Guillou, 1841) and C. (Conocephalus) bambusanus Ingrisch, 1990. Key words. Tettigoniidae, Conocephalus, new species, record species, Hainan, China. Three species of the genus Conocephalus Thunberg have been reported from Hainan, China. These are Conocephalus (Anisoptera) exemptus (Walker, 1869), Conocephalus (Anisoptera) melaenus (Haan, 1842) and Conocephalus (Anisoptera) longipennis (De Haan, 1842). We collected some specimens which belong to the genus Conocephalus from Hainan in 2014. They are the following species: C. (Anisoptera) melaenus (Haan, 1842), C. (Anisoptera) maculatus (Le Guillou, 1841), C. (Conocephalus) bambusanus Ingrisch, 1990, and one new species, i.e. Conocephalus (Xiphidion) hainanensis sp. nov. Conocephalus is represented in Hainan by 6 species. The material examined is deposited in the Museum of Hebei University.
