Summer 2014 Instructional Technology Offerings If you are ready to learn new ways to integrate technology into your curriculum, here are the opportunities available for Summer 2014. Dates follow the course description. Most classes run from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm with lunch on your own. AM Classes are from 8:00-11:30. PM Classes are from 12:30-4:00. Locations are noted in the online calendar. They learn basic navigation and explore key accessibility features and apps as they apply to teaching and learning. Please bring your iPad with you. Offered: 6/11/2014 My Big Campus Basics (4 Recertification Points) This session will cover how to get started with MBC including forming groups and organizing content for sharing as well as using announcements and discussions. Offered: 6/10/2014 AM, 6/23/2014 AM, 7/30/2014 AM My Big Campus: Communicating with Your Students (4 Recertification Points) My Big Campus’ basic features revolve around communication, modeling the modern workplace. This session will look at how Groups, Messages, Chat, and Calendar work, so you can communicate with your students to increate class productivity. Please bring your Laptop (PC or Mac) with you. Offered: 6/10/2014 PM, 6/23/2014 PM, 7/30/2014 PM My Big Campus: Bundles (4 Recertification Points) Bundles in My Big Campus let you take your online and electronic lesson content and put it together in an electronic folder-type that can be posted for students and shared with other teachers. This session will not only look at how to build a Bundle and share it with students and teachers, but will also look at the massive assortment of pre-created Bundles already in My Big Campus. This workflow can be quick and efficient, allowing teachers to focus on specific student needs. Learn your Schoolwork options in this session, and learn how to create them to use in your class. Offered: 7/7/2014, 7/16/2014, 8/4/2014 iOS Creativity (8 Recertification Points) Participants gain fundamental skills with iOS creativity apps (iPhoto, GarageBand, and iMovie). Offered: 7/9/2014 AM Classroom Management (4 Recertification Points) Explore options to track student device use in the classroom and encourage higher levels of engagement for all learners. Offered: 7/14/2014 AM Digital Storytelling (4 Recertification Points) We will explore several multimedia and book production apps on the iPad that your students can use to create digital projects to demonstrate their learning. Offered: 7/14/2014 PM, 7/17/2014 AM Student Multimedia Projects (8 Recertification Points) We will discuss how to update student projects to engage the 21st century learner. The workshop will address moving making, comics, podcasting, digital posters, presentation tools and several other types of projects.
