Match background Sporting • Sporting lost 2-1 at Real Madrid CF on matchday one but bounced back with a 2-0 home victory over Legia Warszawa last time out. • The Lisbon club have won only two of their previous 12 home meetings with German teams (D5 L5). • In each of the last two seasons Sporting have suffered UEFA Europa League elimination against German sides, losing to Bayer 04 Leverkusen (1-4 agg) in 2015/16 and VfL Wolfsburg (0-2 agg) in 2014/15.
