CBS Sets Holiday Schedule

CBS Sets Holiday Schedule 10.29.2014 CBS is one of the earliest broadcasters to get into the holiday spirit this year, debuting the season's programming with the Thanksgiving Day Parade to kick it all off. Holiday specials and well-known Christmas movies are interwoven with network events like "The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show" and "A Very Grammy Christmas," featuring performances from past winners. Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 27: CBS starts off the holiday season in style with the 87th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, live from New York, hosted by Entertainment Tonight's Kevin Frazier and The Insider's Thea Andrews and featuring Broadway performances from Pippin and Matilda. Nov. 28: The day after Thanksgiving, CBS will air Frosty the Snowman and the animated movie Yes, Virginia, which is based on the story of Virginia O'Hanlon, an eight-year-old girl who inspired the 1890s newspaper editorial, "Is there a Santa Claus?" Nov. 29: Emma Roberts and Norm Macdonald voice the animated special, The Flight Before Christmas, before CBS' airing of The Story of Santa Claus. Dec. 5: A Very Grammy Christmas will feature performances from Ariana Grande, Maroon 5 and Tim McGraw before announcing the nominees for Album of the Year. Dec. 7: The I Love Lucy Christmas Special includes two episodes of the show, the "Christmas Episode" and a colorize version of "Job Switching," which has the famous scene of Lucy at the chocolate factory. Dec. 9: The Christmas classic, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, is celebrating its 50th anniversary, and will air before this year's Victoria's Secret Fashion Show broadcast at 10 p.m. Dec. 13: Frosty Returns this Saturday with John Goodman voicing the title character this time around. Dec. 19: CBS' special, A Home for the Holidays, raises awareness of the issue of adopting children from foster care.
