S ............... 5 .................Louisiana Tech *Experience for the 2021 season Alexander (5-10, 192) rejoins the Vikings in 2021 following one season with the Cincinnati Bengals. He started 10 of 13 games that he appeared in and recorded a career-high 47 tackles and one interception with six passes defensed for Cincinnati. Originally drafted with the 54th overall pick by the Vikings in 2016, Alexander recorded 99 tackles, 4.5 sacks, 21 passes defensed, two interceptions and one fumble recovery through 55 games (10 starts) in four seasons with Minnesota. He helped the team to top-five NFL rankings in both total defense and passing defense in three of his four seasons with the Vikings and led all NFL cornerbacks in sacks in 2018 with 4.0. As a redshirt sophomore at Clemson, Alexander helped the Tigers finish as national runner-ups to earn AP Second Team All-America honors and was tabbed a semifinalist for the Jim Thorpe Award (nation's top defensive back). Woods (5-11, 212) joins the Vikings after four seasons with the Dallas Cowboys where he started in 48 contests and appeared in 60 games. Selected by the Cowboys in the sixth round (191st overall) in the 2017 NFL Draft, Woods has totaled career 247 tackles (172 solo), four tackles for loss, 18 passes defensed, five interceptions, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries while in Dallas. In 2020, Woods started all 15 games he played and posted a career-high 72 total tackles (48 solo), two tackles for loss and one pass defensed. He was selected as a captain for Week 6. A native of West Monroe, Louisiana, Woods attended Louisiana Tech where he posted 89 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, 3.0 sacks, five interceptions, six passes defensed and one quarterback hurry as a senior. His five interceptions ranked first in Conference USA and 13th in the nation. As a junior in 2015, Woods played for current Vikings defensive backs coach Karl Scott at Louisiana Tech, who served as the team’s safeties coach.
