GRAMMY ICONS AT WEST In collaboration the Beverly Hills / Hollywood NAACP and AFTRA, West hosted “Grammy Icons” on Novem- ber 17, 2011. A panel of renowned Grammy-winning singers and musicians shared memories of how they got started and stories from their careers and lives with a full theater of students and guests. Panelist were Della Reese, Thelma Houston, Ray Parker, Jr., Joyce & Pam Vincent, and Thomas (T.C.) Campbell of “Cameo.” The moderator was Alvin Cambell. Read more about them on page 2. Campbell of “Cameo” GRAMMY ICONS AT WEST. continued DELLA REESE is a Grammy and Image Award winning legendary singer, actress, talk show host and ordained minister. Her musical career began in the 1950s. She gained new fans on television’s Touched By An Angel. THELMA HOUSTON is a Grammy Award winning singer, songwriter and actress. With more than 23 albums, she was recently featured on both American Idol and America’s Got Talent. RAY PARKER, JR. is a Grammy Award winning singer, songwriter, guitarist and producer. In 1984, his song Ghostbusters was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song. PAM & JOYCE VINCENT (“Dawn” of Tony Orlando & Dawn) In addition to their success with Tony Orlando, Pam and Joyce Vincent have had accomplished independent careers as pop and R&B singers and arrangers. THOMAS “T.C.” CAMPBELL is an R&B, jazz and gospel music producer, songwriter and key- board artist. He is formerly a member of the funk music group Cameo and co-founded Spiritual Icon Records with Della Reese. and special guest ALVIN CHEA was part of the a cappella gospel music sextet which became the most winning vocal group in Grammy History with 8 trophies and 19 nominations..
