Minor faults arising in the fire alarm panel like detector in need for cleanliness/maintenance, wrong device selection, any detector/device missing, address same for two detectors, loop break, sensor maintenance warning, Pre-Alarm stage etc. should get displayed on screen on fire alarm panel with buzzer going on once only. Buzzer should not be continuously ON. It should beep only once for all such faults/troubles. Buzzer should have the option to get disabled and similar capability should be present in repeater panel. f. Fire alarm should get presented by sounder/flasher which is already installed as loop device and red LED in Fire Alarm Panel. g. It should be EN 54 listed panel, since all detectors, Manual Call point and sounder module are EN listed devices. h. Central microprocessor present in MFAP: The Microprocessor shall communicate with, monitor, and control all external interfaces with the control panel. It shall include EPROM for system program storage; non-volatile memory for building- specific program storage; and a "watch dog" timer circuit to detect and report microprocessor failure. The Microprocessor shall contain and execute all programming for actions to be taken if an alarm condition is detected by the system. Such programming shall be held in non-volatile programmable memory and shall not be lost if both the system primary and secondary power failure occurs. The Microprocessor Unit shall also provide a Real- Time Clock for time annotation of system displays, printer, and history file. The Microprocessor Unit shall contain flash memory capabilities for easy upload/download, for upgrades of software. All clock, date and history files shall be maintained during power loss. Event of fire alarms, and other troubles arising in Fire Detection and Alarm System should be logged in the Panel memory (of atleast 2000 events). i. Display: The Display shall provide all the controls and indicators used by the system operator and may also be used to program all system operational parameters. The Display shall include status information and custom alphanumeric labels for all Addressable Detectors, Addressable Modules and Software zones. The Display shall provide graphical Liquid Crystal Display (LCD). It shall also provide Light-Emitting-Diodes (LEDs), consisting of and not limited to the following: AC POWER, FIRE ALARM, SUPERVISORY, SYSTEM TROUBLE, MAINTENANCE, ALARM SILENCED, DISABLED, BATTERY, and GROUND. A local piezoelectric (should have disablement feature present in panel) shall sound only once when trouble is there and system LED shall flash. Display shall include all the information associated with fire alarm condition, including the type of alarm point and its location. The Display shall include the following operator switches: ACKNOWLEDGE/STEP ALARM SILENCE, DRILL, and SYSTEM RESET (also serving as a lamp test switch). j. Serial communications and LAN interface RS-485 ports shall be available for the serial connection of repeater panel. There shall be three nos. of Repeater Panel i.e. at a distance of 50 meters and 800 meters and 400 meters respectively. The system should be able to support repeater panel on a shielded two core cable as well as on Ethernet LAN cable. Communication types /ports over Ethernet should be fully known to vendor. PC/laptop interface capability shall also be present via USB connection for configuration via RS 232/RS 485. Main panel and all the repeater panel must have Ethernet networking feature to communicate with each other via LAN cat 6 cable and intermediary network switches if required. LAN cable tester, crimper tools shall be brought by vendor at the time of installation. LAN communication port ( RJ 45 ports ) must be present for communication over LAN for all the repeater panels as well as Main Fire Alarm Panel. In case, RJ 45 ports are not there, vendor must provide compatible and reputed serial to Ethernet converters with with each set of repeater panel and Main Fire Alarm Panel as well. k. Enclosures: The control panel shall be housed in a metallic cabinet suitable for surface or semi-flush mounting. Cabinet and front shall be corrosion protected. l. Panel outputs: Panel should have relay output programmable for Fire output, trouble output and Reset output, (atleast three Nos. of relay outputs) programmable from the panel.
