We have now received the final report that we expect to be published on the Ofsted website on Monday and which will be made available on the school’s website this afternoon. A copy of the report is enclosed with this letter. Although the report finds that: safeguarding of children is effective, our students feel safe and well looked after, spiritual, social, moral and cultural development is effective, and there is a broad and balanced curriculum in place it is less positive about the school overall and as a result, I regret to tell you, the school has been placed in Special Measures. The school’s leaders, governors and trustees accept the report’s findings and have already started work to fully address the issues raised as quickly as possible. To support us we will be working closely with Chorlton High School and Piper Hill High School, both of which are Teaching Schools and National Support Schools and have a proven track record of delivering sustained school improvement over time. We will draw on a range of high quality external support alongside internal support from the wider Prospere Learning Trust. Our aim is to respond swiftly to the areas for improvement highlighted in the report and successfully improve outcomes for all our students.’ A ‘Drop-in’ sessions for parents will be held on Thursday 24th May 2018 from 5pm to 7pm, at the school. Members of staff, Governors and Trustees will be available to discuss the report, our future plans for improvement and any questions you might wish to raise.
