UOB Visa Account-Based Ticketing (ABT) Staff Pilot Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) 1. What is the Account-Based Ticketing (ABT) System? The Account-Based Ticketing (ABT) System enables commuters to use their Visa credit or debit cards with contactless function for fare payments. There will be no need for upfront top-ups when using your credit or debit card for fare payments. Similar to any Visa contactless purchases, your bus and train transactions will be processed, accumulated and charged to your credit or debit cards. Commuters will be able to track and view their journey and fare history via the TransitLink ABT Portal or TransitLink Mobile Services app. 2. What are the benefits of the ABT System? The ABT System will eliminate the need for a separate transit card and the hassle of topping up. In addition, the ABT System will enable commuters to track and view their journey and fare history at their convenience via TransitLink ABT Portal or TransitLink Mobile Services app. 3. How do I register for an ABT Account? You will receive a confirmation email from TransitLink for ABT account registration once you have been successfully registered for the ABT pilot. You may visit the TransitLink ABT Portal or download the TransitLink Mobile Services app to register for the ABT Account. You will be required to create a password to login to your account. 4. What if I forget my password? A password self-reset feature is available in the login page of the TransitLink ABT Portal or TransitLink Mobile Services app for you to reset your password. 5. What cards can I register for this pilot? Only Singapore-issued UOB Visa contactless credit or debit cards can be registered under the ABT System during the pilot. Your UOB Visa contactless card must have an expiry date after April 2020. Please ensure you register a UOB Visa contactless credit or debit card with the Visa payWave logo on your card. 1 6. I am a supplementary cardmember, can I participate in the pilot? Yes, supplementary cardmembers can participate in the pilot. 7. Can I still participate in this Visa ABT staff pilot if I am on Mastercard ABT pilot? Yes, simply register via the online form by 3 Feb 2019 with the existing email address that was used to register for the Mastercard ABT pilot. 8. Will I earn rewards on my ABT transactions? Yes, these transactions will be awarded rebates/rewards on your card. Visit your individual product pages on uob.com.sg/cards for more information on your eligible card rebates/rewards. 9. How do I enable my UOB Visa contactless card for transit? For UOB Visa contactless cards that do not have EZ-LINK/NETS FlashPay functionality, no additional action is required after you linked them to your ABT Account. For UOB Visa contactless cards that come with EZ-Link/NETS FlashPay functionality, the EZ-Link/NETS FlashPay function will be the default payment mode for transit. You will need to visit the General Ticketing Machines at any train station to switch to contactless payment mode. This can be performed five (5) days after receiving the confirmation email of your card registration. Please note that your EZ-Link/NETS FlashPay purse has to be active in order to switch to contactless payment mode for ABT. Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 Step 4 2 10. Will the remaining stored value in the EZ-Link/NETS FlashPay purse of my registered UOB Visa contactless card be automatically refunded to me when I switch to contactless payment at the General Ticketing Machines? Upon refund, you will not be able to switch the payment mode of your contactless card back to EZ-Link/NETS FlashPay functionality in future. 12. When can I start using my UOB Visa contactless card for fare payment? For UOB Visa contactless cards: You will be able to use your contactless card to pay for transit five (5) days after receiving the confirmation email of your card registration. 3 For UOB Visa contactless cards with EZ-Link/NETS FlashPay functionality: Please switch the payment mode of your card to contactless payment at the General Ticketing Machines, five (5) days after receiving the confirmation email of your card registration. After which, you will be able to use your contactless card to pay for train rides. 13. How do I register for the pilot again if I lose my registered UOB Visa contactless card? For UOB Visa contactless cardmembers with replacement card, you would need to contact UOB call centre to take part in the pilot again. 14. Can I continue to use my UOB Visa contactless card for transit after the end of pilot? You will be able to continue to use your UOB Visa contactless card for transit until further notice. 15. Can I still use the EZ-Link/NETS FlashPay functionality on my card for retail purchases after switching to the UOB Visa contactless bank payment mode for transit? Yes, you can still use your EZ-Link/NETS FlashPay functionality on your card for retail purchases. 16. Can I use my UOB Visa contactless card payment to make payment for all train and public bus services? Yes, you can pay for both train and public bus fares (basic, premium and express bus services) with your UOB Visa contactless card under the ABT System, except for private buses. Please note that for premium bus services, your UOB Visa contactless card can be used to pay for fares only if they are operated by public transport operators (PTOs) and not private operators. All PTOs-operated buses (basic, premium and express bus services) are installed with a standard card reader as shown below. 4 17. Are there any changes to the fares when using my UOB Visa contactless card for transit? No, the fares charged using contactless bank cards are the same as card fares. Please refer to www.ptc.gov.sg/regulation/bus-rail/fare-structure for more information on fares. Please note that concessionary fares and travel passes are not available as part of this pilot. 18. How would I be billed? The transactions will be processed and charged to your contactless bank cards with the merchant descriptor name - BUS/MRT. For Visa, fare charges will be accumulated daily. You will be able to see the aggregated charges after 4 days. To view the breakdown of the aggregated fares, please log into the TransitLink ABT Portal or TransitLink Mobile Services app. 19. Will the fare amount be displayed on the reader when I tap to exit? No, the reader will only display “Bank Card Usage”. 20. Why am I unable to see the fare charged at the point of exit? Due to the system nature of ABT, the computation of fare calculation is not instantaneous in comparison to card-based transactions. You will be able to find the details of each transaction in your ABT Account on the TransitLink ABT Portal or TransitLink Mobile Services app. 21. What should I do if there are any discrepancies in my transactions/billings history? If there are any discrepancies in your travel transactions or billings, you may submit your claims for the travel transactions of the cards that are linked to your ABT Account via the “My Claims” page on the TransitLink ABT Portal or TransitLink Mobile Services app. Claims can only be filed for transactions that are up to 14 days after the date of incident. For commuters who have not signed up for an ABT Account or link their cards to their account, please do so on the TransitLink ABT Portal or TransitLink Mobile Services app. Please note that you can only view up to the last 90 days of your transactions history. 22.
