Our rich programming and opportuni- Student Winter Break tes could not happen without the generous giving of families in our community. December 25th– January 3rd Any giving amount helps support our students and community. We appreciate your support. December 2017 Dear Parents, First of all, we want to say thank you! Thank you, both for the time you give as volunteers at school, and for your generous donations to the Home and School Association (HSA). Your support makes so many things possible for our children at PAS. So far this year we have raised $13,000 towards our goal of $100,000. We believe that your participation is the “secret ingredient” that makes our school stand apart from all other public schools in Philadelphia. Your involvement has helped PAS become a National Blue Ribbon school. Here is just a short list of some of what we have accomplished together because of your generous giving: ● Salary support for Ms. Rutledge, PAS’s full-time art teacher - $60,000 ● Egg hatching/baby chick program for First Grade - $1,000 ● Dancing Classrooms for fifth grade - $3,000 ● Spring Musical performance (copyright purchase & costume/set supplies) - $2,000 ● Eighth-grade field trip to see a musical - $3,000 ● Registration fees and supplies for Reading Olympics and GeoBee competitions - $500 ● Music program supplies and technical upgrades - $3,000 ● SMART boards and iPads for all grades - $5,000 ● After-school clubs (supplies and support for instructors) - $5,000 Really, there is so much more that your donations support at PAS and even more that Mr. Farrell has in mind for our children going forward. In order to continue to offer these programs, WE NEED YOU! Help us reach our goal of raising $100,000 this school year. Please add the HSA to your end-of-year giving and give generously. The suggested tax-deductible contribution is $100 per child, but any and all donations are greatly appreciated. No amount is too small or too big. Last year’s gifts ranged from $5 to $5,000. Please complete the form on the back of this letter and return it to the school or donate online at www.pennalexanderschool.org. NEW THIS YEAR – transfer stock to the HSA for a better tax benefit. Contact Leila Graham-Willis ([email protected]) for more information. Again, THANK YOU! Have a safe and happy winter break!
