The four first team award winners were the most by the Huskies in a season during the team’s Division I era. St. Cloud State University Hockey Release 2018-19 NCHC CHAMPS! St. Cloud State claims its third Penrose Cup championship in 2018-19 The St. Cloud State University men’s hockey team clinched SCSU’s Regular Season Conference Titles: its second consecutive NCHC Regular Season championship with a 5-0 victory over Omaha on Feb. 23. NCHC: 2018-19, 2017-18 and 2013-14 This was the Huskies third NCHC regular season title and WCHA: 2012-13 their fourth as an NCAA Division I program and the team’s NCHA: 1986-87 fifth regular season conference title in the overall history of the program. SCSU has won NCHC titles in 2013-14, 2017-18 and 2018- 19. The Huskies also won the WCHA championship in 2012- 13 and the Huskies won the NCHA championship in their last year as a DIII affiliate in 1986-87. The Huskies clinched this year’s championship with four games still remaining on the regular season schedule. SCSU ended the regular season with a 27-4-3 overall record and a 19-2-3 mark in the always rugged NCHC. SCSU’s 19 wins and 62 league points are the most in a season in the history of the NCHC.
