This is a 2% increase in the number of households within the township compared to 2001, compared to the 1% increase seen across Sefton as whole Owner occupied properties make up the biggest proportion of households within Southport (72%), similar to Sefton rate (71%), however, this has reduced when compared to 2001 Rented properties make up 26% of all households within the Township. With privately rented properties making up 19%, higher than the rate seen by Sefton (1 3%), and has seen a 61% increase compared to 2001.
