OLDINA SKI CLUB (CO-OPERATIVE LIMITED) OLDINA SKI LODGE INFORMATION Welcome to Oldina Ski Club! We hope you enjoy your stay here at the lodge. Please let the Manager know of anything that can be done to assist in your stay or alternatively ask the Lodge Captain. We value your feedback and have provided a simple questionnaire to be filled out (anonymously) to be left in your room. This information allows the lodge to assess guest’s needs & provide valuable feedback for future improvements. We thank you in advance for your time. SECURITY: There is a security lock at the front door for entry into the lodge. At time of booking Michael Brennan will issue a security code. Please ensure that you close & lock the door after entry for full security purposes. MEALS: Breakfast: is served at 8.00 am every day in the living area. Breakfast consists of: Variety of cereals & fresh hot porridge Fruit Juices Yoghurt Toast – grain, wholemeal & white Cooked breakfast as per Chef’s menu Coffee & tea Dinner: served at 7.00 pm each evening. Dinner consists of a 3 course meal freshly prepared by the Chef. Dinner is served in the living room and is a chance for all guests to share stories & days highlights. CASUAL MEAL RATES: $ 35.00 - 3 course dinner & $ 20.00 for full hot breakfast DRINKS: Coffee, tea & hot chocolate are available complimentary throughout your stay. These facilities are in the kitchen and milk located in the pantry fridge. Alcohol/own drinks: Please supply your own drinks for the duration of your stay. Guest’s use the ‘fridge’ out the back of the main floor for storing and keeping drinks cool. Please ask if unsure. Empty bottles are recycled in the bin located in the small alcove adjacent to the fireplace & the balcony. DUTY ROSTER: WINTER SEASON Oldina ski club operates a casual duty roster system. This service & set up of Breakfast & Dinner works on a rotating roster per room. Each room is required to set up & serve one breakfast & one dinner. Please see corkboard in living room for your roster duty. Please ask if you are unsure. Page 1 Breakfast duty requires the table to be laid before 8.00 am. The table set up requires place mat, cutlery, side plate & breakfast condiments; dishwasher emptied and put away; cereals, juice & bowls on counter; making of toast when required & clearing of table & stacking of dishwasher. Dinner duty: Table is required to be set before 7.00 pm. Full 3 course set is required, with side plates, place mats, water glasses, salt and pepper & some wine glasses. The Manager will ask you to take meals out when ready and after meals have finished cleared and stacked in dishwasher. COLLECTION OF SKIS AT END OF DAY: (snow permitting) We offer the service of collecting your skis/boards at the end of the day. The trailer is left on the southern side of the bridge near the PERISHER QUAD CHAIR. Please familiarise yourself with the trailer before leaving the first day. There is a combination lock for the trailer. Please ask the Manager. We advise you lock your skis up securely as anything left here is at YOUR OWN RISK. The Manager collects the trailer daily between 5.00 pm – 5.15 pm. DRYING ROOM: There is a drying room for guests use to dry all ski gear and boots. Please keep this door shut to maximize drying time. SKI BOOTS: Please DO NOT WEAR ski or board boots up stairs. This is not permitted. CHECK IN: 11.30 am - Please note breakfast is not included on day of arrival. CHECK OUT: 9.30 am COMMUNAL AREAS: We ask all guests to consider others while staying at the lodge. We offer a friendly and warm environment and like to promote socialising with other guests. We ask all guests to please respect other guests’ privacy and quiet time by keeping noise to a minimum. There is strictly NO SMOKING inside the lodge. Smoking is only permitted outside of the lodge. The pool table is for all guests to use. Please cover the pool table after use. There is a games cupboard located in the main living room for guests to use. We ask you to keep lodge tidy and clean. INTERNET Oldina currently has WiFi for guests to access emails but NOT to download movies and large amounts of data. Ask the lodge manager for the password. Guests are welcome to utilise their own connections and laptops with consideration of other guests in communal areas. SKI SCHOOL: Ski school is located opposite the ticket centre. Book online at www.perisher.com.au SKI HIRE: Ski hire is located next door to the ticket centre. Book online at www.perisher.com.au COFFEE/EATS: There a few Cafes in Perisher Valley for you to enjoy a cuppa in the snow! Brunelli’s is well known amongst locals and great for an Italian coffee & fresh panini’s – UPPER LEVEL OF PERISHER CENTRE. Aldo’s is also renowned for superb coffee, pizza and service and is located in the SKITUBE TERMINAL. SUPERMARKET: There is a supermarket located in the SKITUBE TERMINAL. Please be aware that this closes at 6.00 pm sharp. MEDICAL CENTRE: The Perisher Valley Medical centre is located in the SKITUBE TERMINAL. (02) 6457 5266 The next closest medical centre is located in Jindabyne. Please dial 000 for any medical emergencies. PHARMACY: There is a pharmacy located in the PERISHER CENTRE for any health and related items required. The pharmacy closes at 5.30 pm TRANSPORT WITHIN PERISHER BLUE Mountain Bases and Parking Once in the resort you have a choice of fully serviced mountain bases to begin your day's riding. Perisher Valley offers day access by car, parking is free and for day use only. Smiggins Holes may be accessed by car, day parking is free and a free shuttle service operates between Perisher Valley and Smiggins Holes between 7.30am and 6pm (and longer during night skiing and boarding). Guthega can be accessed by car and there is FREE day parking for 60 cars and 50 overnight spaces although snow conditions can affect these numbers. Blue Cow is a day resort and can only be accessed via Ski tube from Perisher Valley or Bullocks Flat. If you require hire be sure to do this before embarking Ski tube to Blue Cow. Oversnow Transport Hans Oversnow can be contacted on (02) 6457 5334 or 0418 485 144 - 24 hours a day. Page 3 Hans Oversnow is located in the Perisher Ski tube Terminal. Oversnow transport is provided to all lodges in Perisher and Smiggins for a charge (depending on how far the lodge is from the Ski tube Terminal at Perisher). Additional charges apply after midnight. Bookings are essential for very late arrivals. Hans Oversnow also operates a Skiers Special in the afternoons for skiers/boarders with boots, skis/boards only for a minimal fee. Just turn up to the counter in the SKITUBE TERMINAL. Free Shuttle Service A free shuttle service operates between Perisher Valley and Smiggins Holes. The shuttle service runs from 7.30am to 6pm and until 10pm Tuesday and Saturday to accommodate night skiing and boarding. Pick-ups are from the turning circle at Perisher Ski tube Terminal and the metal bridge outside the Smiggins Hotel at Smiggins Holes. Shuttles depart approximately every 15 minutes. SKI TUBE On-snow overnight parking at Perisher, Smiggins and Guthega is limited to a few accommodation properties only and we recommend using Ski tube to access on snow accommodation. Ski tube Alpine Railway is located at Bullocks Flat, 20kms or around 15 minutes drive from Jindabyne via the Alpine Way, with no chains normally required. FREE day parking for 2208 vehicles and overnight parking for 822 vehicles is available here. Ski tube from Bullocks Flat accesses Perisher Valley and Blue Cow Mountain. Coach services run morning and evening between Jindabyne and Bullocks Flat. Your Ski tube Pass includes the National Park Use Fee. Check current timetable for skitube times. Canberra International Airport is located about 7 kilometers (10 mins) from the city centre.
