ANNALS OF AMERICAN HISTORY ACTIVITY STUDYING HISTORY THROUGH WRITING Britannica Student Activity Worksheets Using Annals of American History from Encyclopædia Britannica with your students incorporates reading, writing, and American history. Britannica’s activity worksheets for your students can be found online at http://corporate.britannica.com/training. To find the student activity, click the link for “Student Activity: Studying History Through Writing” under “Annals of American History”. These activities enable students to further develop analytical skills by critiquing a historical document. Students will analyze the document by answering questions about the author’s purpose, audience, writing style, emotional appeal, and impact on American history. The students will then write a review of this document, and finally, interpret the message with a current day perspective.
