It was finished as the sun set with tears of joy by the five little ones and their “Big Sister”. Big Sister is a hero taking on the task of holding this family together after the loss of their parents. To do it, she works 2 jobs and postponed a scholarship. Members attending the holiday party donated gift cards and decorations for this family. Page 3 “Joy of Giving” Pick Me Up for hundreds We never imagined having a member of our club who would bring a calendar of “Pick Me Up” events and ideas. This one is called the “Joy of Giving”. It started at Walmart at 7 AM with a “by invitation only” group of families shopping for Christmas for gifts. One beauti- ful lady organized it all for several years. Everything including a Turkey was without charge. Santa and Mrs Claus invited Sue Les- ter to come meet the lady and see her Joy of Giving event. Hugs from Santa, saying thank you, toys and a turkey saved Christmas for many families. There was even an elf! Mrs Claus was helpful at the check out and the happy parents expressed their gratitude for the joy of receiving at the Joy of Giving event. Oh, what a joy it was to see.
