Jules Bianchi Believes Return on Investment Is Due

Oct 31, 2013 14:02 +08 Jules Bianchi believes return on investment is due Dubai: French rookie Jules Bianchi believes he and his QNET Marussia Formula One team can aspire to picking up points in the not too distant future. “We’ve been reliable with our results in our first season, and it’s just a matter of time when we start winning points,” Bianchi told Gulf News in an interview here before this weekend’s Etihad Airways Formula One Grand Prix at Yas Marina. Bianchi made his debut this season with the QNET-backed outfit. Though he and teammate Max Chilton are yet to win a point, consistency in the results in the 13 races so far has seen the team in tenth place ahead of arch-rivals Caterham. “As of now, we are definitely in a strong position for tenth position overall among the teams, and it would help us a lot to get that extra money so that we can have a reliable car for the new season,” Bianchi noted. The 24-year-old native from Nice previously raced in Formula Renault 3.5 in the GP2 Series and Formula Three. He comes in with a wholesome pedigree in motorsport as his grandfather Mauro Bianchi is a three-time world champion in the GT category and his great uncle Lucien won the gruelling 24-hour event in Le Mans in 1968 while also competing in 19 grands prix between 1959 and 1968. “We want a better car for the new season and the consistency and reliability that we’ve had so far. And, of course, we want to start winning points as soon as possible,” he said. The Marussia F1 team are yet to open its account in the drivers’ and teams’ standings. But they have the consolation of finishing each and every race held so far this season. After this weekend’s race at Yas Marina, the teams will head for the penultimate round in Austin, Texas followed by the final round of the championships in Sao Paulo, Brazil. “Honestly, it’s been a great first season, not just for us both but also for the team. It’s been quite a big step that we have been able to keep this form,” the French driver added.
