The Lancers were led by Maurice Sumter with 15 points, adding a career-high and game-high five blocks. The Cavaliers were led by Sean Singletary DI INDEPENDENT STANDINGS with game-highs of 19 points and seven assists. Virginia opened the contest by making nine of its first 12 shots, including four three-pointers by Singletary, to lead 22-2 just 5:17 into the game en route to a 53-29 Team Record Pct. advantage at the intermission.
