T R A F F I C R E G U L A T I O N S ---------------------------------------------------------------- No. TP / 32, Dated : 19.10.2011 Whereas it is necessary for preventing danger, obstruction or inconvenience to the public in connection with the 5TH ONE-DAY INTERNATIONAL (DAY & NIGHT) CRICKET MATCH ON 25.10.2011 AND T-20 INTERNATIONAL CRICKET MATCH ON 29.10.2011 BETWEEN INDIA AND ENGLAND AT EDEN GARDENS, KOLKATA I, Ranjit Kumar Pachnanda, Commissioner of Police, Kolkata, in exercise of powers vested in me under Section 115, 117, 122 and 126 M V Act, 1988 and Section 62, 62(1b) of Calcutta Police Act./ 39, 39(1b) of Calcutta Suburban Police Act read with Rule No. 85, 86, 87, 88 and 93 of Rules for the Regulations of Traffic in Kolkata and its suburbs and under sub-section(1) of Section 4 of the West Bengal Traffic Regulations Act, 1965 (W B Act XV of 1965) read with Govt. of West Bengal Home (Transport) Department Order No. 7605-WT, dated the 20th July, 1965 and Govt. of West Bengal Transport Department Notification No. 3363-WT/3M-34/99, dated the 29th April, 1999, do hereby order that all classes of vehicles and all kinds of traffic including pedestrian traffic to the following areas and all the following thoroughfares or portions thereof shall be regulated in the manner prescribed below, notwithstanding any other orders in force on the days. 1) Movement of Heavy goods vehicles, medium goods vehicle and light motor vehicles, carrying goods, shall be temporarily restricted / suspended and / or diverted from roads or road stretches at and around Eden Gardens and Maidan from 11.00 hours on 25.10.2011 till 02.00 hours on 26.10.201 and from 15.00 hours on 29.10.2011 till 02.00 hours on 30.10.2011 or till dispersal of the crowd in addition to normal restriction. Movements of all types of Goods Vehicles shall be restricted to ply in and around Victoria Memorial Hall, i.e Portion of AJC Bose Road between D. L. Khan Road to Cathedral Road, Hospital Road, Queen way, Cathedral Road, Casuarina Avenue, Lovers Lane etc. 2) Kshudiram Bose Road (Auckland Road), North Brooke Avenue and Gostha Pal Sarani (Kingsway) will be closed to all types of vehicles from 11.00 hrs on 25.10.2011 and from 15.00 hrs on 29.10.2011. High Court bound cars may be allowed to move along Esplanade Row West, instead of Auckland Road and North Brooke Avenue, as and when considered necessary by Traffic Police on duty. 3) Parking of vehicles will be prohibited on both sides of the following roads as and when considered necessary by the Traffic Police on duty :- a) Gostha Pal Sarani (Kingsway). b) Kshudiram Bose Road (Auckland Road). c) Govt. Place East. d) Rani Rashmoni Avenue. e) Old Court House Street. f) Indira Gandhi Sarani (Red Road). g) Guru Nanak Sarani (Mayo Road). h) Dufferin Road. 4) Buses and mini buses coming from south Kolkata will be diverted (i) from Guru Nanak Sarani (Mayo Road) towards Netaji Statue, Govt. Place East, Old Court House Street, B B D Bag and also (ii) from J L Nehru Road towards Bentinck Street, Mission Row, Mangoe Lane, B B D Bag, depending on the volume of traffic or as and when considered necessary by the Police on duty. Similarly, buses and mini buses from north and east Kolkata will be diverted (i) from Central Avenue towards Ganesh Ch. Avenue, Mangoe Lane, B B D Bag, (ii) from S N Banerjee Road towards R R Avenue, Govt Place East, Old Court House Street, B B D Bag for westward journey and also (iii) from Old Court House Street towards Esplanade Row East, J L Nehru Road for southward journey as and when considered necessary by Police on duty. 5) Motorists from south Kolkata may avail A J C Bose Road, St. Georges Gate Road, Strand Road and find access to B B D Bag area through Kiran Sankar Roy Road towards Council House Street according to the direction of traffic police on duty. Similarly, motorists from north and east Kolkata will enter B B D Bag area through B B Ganguly Street and also from S N Banerjee Road, R R Avenue, Govt. Place East, Old Court House Street etc. as directed by traffic police on duty. 1 6) On 25.10.2011, Howrah Bound Buses & Mini Buses coming from South and South West Kolkata along D H Road, Khidderpore Bridge, Khidderpore Road will be diverted from Hastings crossing via St. Georges Gate Road – Strand Road for their northward journey, as and when required. On 29.10.2011 these vehicles will be diverted along D H Road – National Library Avenue – Belvedere Road – AJC Bose Road – Exide crossing – J L Nehru Road for their northward journey, as and when required. 7) On 25.10.2011, Howrah Bound Buses & Mini Buses coming from South and South West Kolkata along D H Road, Strandle Road, Alipore Road, Belvedere Road, Zeerat Bridge will be diverted from Belvedere Road / AJC Bose Road crossing via AJC Bose Road – AJC Ramp – St. Georges Gate Road – Strand Road for their northward journey, as and when required. On 29.10.2011 these vehicles will be diverted from Belvedere Road / AJC Bose Road crossing via AJC Bose Road – Exide crossing – J L Nehru Road for their northward journey, as and when required. 8) On 25.10.2011, Howrah Bound Buses & Mini Buses coming from South Kolkata along AJC Bose Road – J L Nehru Road – Mayo Road will be diverted from J L Nehru Road / Mayo Road crossing via Dufferin Road – K P Road – Ghorapath – St Georges Gate Road – Strand Road – for their northward journey, as and when required. On 29.10.2011 these vehicles will be diverted from J L Nehru Road / Mayo Road crossing along J L Nehru Road – Bentinck Street / R R Avenue for their northward journey, as and when required. 9) Howrah Bound Buses & Mini Buses coming from North and East Kolkata along B B Ganguly Street – B B D Bag South – Hare Street – Strand Road will be diverted from the crossing B B Ganguly Street / C R Avenue via C R Avenue – M G Road – Strand Road – Howrah Bridge Approach – Howrah, as and when required. 10) Parking arrangements have been provided at the following five locations.
