The Russian language and culture summer school is: - a great opportunity to learn Russian language; - to improve your language skills and knowledge; * Term of study may be changed - to acquire knowledge in Russian history and culture; - to communicate with native speakers of Russian. Apart from Russian language courses, the cultural program is offered: - tours of the city; - outdoor practical seminar on Russian language and culture . On the termination of courses students are given the certificate of Volgograd State University. Russian language and culture summer school is: - 80 hours of Russian language studying as foreign language (grammar, auding, talking, writing); - professionalism of lecturers, who have worked with foreign students from Poland, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, the Great Britain, Hungary, Germany, Spain, France, Turkey, the USA, Japan; - entertaining excursions, extracurricular program; - new meetings, unforgettable impressions. Excursion of Volgograd State University Volgograd State University is one of the youngest universities in Russia nevertheless its reputation for outstanding academic achievement is known world- wide. Despite its young age, the University has rich history. One can make sure in it visiting VolSU Museum Complex: the University History Museum, the History Museum of Cadet Regiments, Ethnographic, and Anthropological Museums. Historical memorial complex "To Heroes of Stalingrad Battle on Mamaev Hill Mamaev Hill - is the highest hill in Volgograd (102 m). That was the highest point which Russian solders defended so frantically that after that bloody battle the hill was covered with mine debris, corpses, bombs and shells. The land was pitted with bomb craters. This heroic hill is crowned by the monumental Motherland Statue – the symbol of Volgograd. Nowadays historical memorial complex “To the Heroes of the Stalingrad Battle” appears to be the most attended monument in Russia. Volgograd Museum of Local History It is one of the oldest and famous museums in Volgograd. Most of interesting collections are: Paleontological, Archaeological, collection of ceramics and act. In museum, visitors can better understand nature of Volgograd region, culture, how people lived in our territory and history. Here you can see festive clothing of Cossacks, peasant bast shoes, which were the main type of shoes of peasants until the middle of the XIX century. Excursion of Volga-Don Canal. The Old Sarepta Museum of History and Ethnography Lenin Volga–Don Shipping Canal is a canal which connects the Volga River and the Don River at their closest points. The Museum represents architectural and historical complex of the German colonists’ buildings of the XVIII century. It is cultural Centre of the Volga Germans at present. You can't know Russia if you haven't been to Uryupinsk. Uryupinsk is the capital of Russian province and at the same time the most ecologically safe city of Europe. It is located in Volgograd region, in the basin of the clear river Khoper. Cossacks’ Ethnographic Museum The history of Cossacks settlements and their culture comes back to the 15-th century. The present day inhabitants have retained some elements of culture and mode of life of their forefathers. .
