MINOR HAVING MAJOR IMPACT--Southpaw Mike Minor entered 2017 with 111 big league appearances under his belt, 110 of which were as a starter...after missing all of last year due to shoulder surgery, the 29-year old is being used in a relief role this season and seems to be getting the hang of it...he has not allowed a run in his last five appearances, totaling 8.0 innings, with three hits and 11 K’s...he’s been nearly as superb in his last nine outings, giving up just one earned run in 15.0 frames for a 0.60 ERA, fanning 16 and holding opponents to a .157 average (8-for-51). EXTENDED JOURNEY STARTS FRIDAY--The Royals will end this stretch in which 15 of 19 games will have been played here with a 10-game journey that commences Friday night...the trip begins with a 3-game stop in Minneapolis, where Kansas City has some catching up to do after being swept at Target Field to open the season and then dropping both games of a rain-shortened series here against the Twins...KC will then head to the Bronx for a 4-game series against these Yankees and closeout the journey with a 3-game stop in Cleveland vs. the defending American League champs.
