Gateway High School 570 6 The Wolves quickly came out of the blocks to lead by 11 points after St Georges College 610 7 the first quarter. The throwers, as Eaglesvale are affectionately known, managed to reduce the deficit in the second quarter to head into the Milestone College 814 8 half time trailing by a respectable margin. Despite a great all round team performance, the WATERPOLO – Arthur Gower Memorial Trophy highlights of the game were two 3-pointers in quick succession by C Timveos, and a breath-taking dunk from Captain M Musariri which sent 1st team Vs Hellenic Lost 1-8 the crowd into a frenzy. The win complimented a good day out on the Vs Falcon Lost 1-8 court for all Saints basketball teams. Vs Peterhouse Lost 4-5 By T Mazanhi 4.1 Vs St John’s Lost 5-11 Junior matches U15A vs Peterhouse Won 8-1 U14A vs Peterhouse Drew 5-5 CRICKET vs PETERHOUSE The following players have been selected for the CANA IV Championship squads to th th 1st XI (T/20 match) – Friday 24th January play matches from 12 to 14 March 2020 at Hellenic Academy. T Chisango 2-30) St George’s 69 all out (R Adams 17) Zimbabwe U14 Squad N Madziyire Results: - lost by 76 runs P Mwipikeni E Chaponda We lost the toss and Peterhouse elected to bat. Initially we wanted to bowl Zimbabwe U16 Squad L Johnson-Brickhill B Nhekairo so it was quite a confidence booster. It took time for our opening bowlers to T Mudanga settle in and the first few overs were quite expensive. When our medium and F Dhlamini spin bowlers came in they took control of the game and applied some Zimbabwe U18 Squad N Hungwe T Chabuka pressure on the Peterhouse batsmen. This caused them to make some rash decisions and give us a number of chances. Unfortunately we could not take The following players have also been selected for the Zimbabwe Junior Men’s all these chances. This gave the batsmen confidence and they were able to squad to play in the EU Nations Waterpolo Cup tournament from 9th to 12th April push from 91 to 145-7 in the final over. The bowling was average but we T Chabuka displayed some poor batting showing no composure and patience batsmen N Hungwe were not rotating strike and were simply giving our wickets away! After an L Johnson-Brickhill appalling batting display, we were only able to post a small total 69 runs all B Nhekairo out. We lost by 76 runs. Well done to these players. We hope they all qualify for these respective teams By M Gwese 4.2 and make the representative teams. We knew a match st against the Tigers would be a tough endeavour but equipped with vigour and 1 team vs Bernard Mizeki Won 2-0 1st team vs Peterhouse Won 2-0 courage we entered our respective courts and gave it our all. The courts were filled with hopeful hearts and fighting spirits. The games were long and filled with exciting rallies with neither side willing to give away any points. Sadly the cards were not in our favour and the Tigers of Prince Edward prevailed. CHESS vs Eaglesvale We however managed to earn victory in a doubles match. From this tough Juniors Drew 3-3 encounter the first team have come out wiser and stronger and will be well Seniors Won 4-2 prepared the next time they face the Tigers. It was a good start for the senior team and the players are encouraged to keep on By T Mumvuma U6 practicing in order to maintain such good performance throughout the year. The juniors also played well considering the absence of other experienced members. Overall position 5th out of 5 teams Talk about "swings and roundabouts"! At Falcon, the team bowled and fielded badly to allow Falcon to score a mammoth 400-6 declared. Our On Saturday the 25th of January, the boys travelled to Westridge High School for a batsmen then took up the challenge to bat all afternoon and avoid defeat - tournament. There were 9 schools in total, split between two groups. In group A our playing declaration cricket, Falcon had to bowl Saint's out to win. Choto first team managed to finish 2nd out of 6 teams while the second team junior players was the mainstay of the innings, scoring a magnificent, undefeated 135 in group B came 5th out of the 5 teams that participated there.
