END-OF-THE-YEAR RANKINGS FROM THE REGULAR CLASSES In 2012, the AKC® agility program reached a new record number of agility trials and entries for the 18th straight year, with 2,863 agility trials held and 1,157,000 entries recorded. In 2012, 975 dogs earned their first MACH title. MACH37 is the highest agility title earned to date in the AKC agility program and one dog has achieved this title. This title was earned by NAC MACH37 Pinpaps Jonquil Of Skipnlena MXB9 MJS9 FTC1 TQX T2B, a Papillon, owned by Robin Kletke and Robin Cohen. The Lifetime Achievement Awards were introduced July 1, 2012. As of the end of the year the top Lifetime Achievement Award titles earned were MXB9 & MJS9 both were earned by NAC MACH37 Pinpaps Jonquil Of Skipnlena MXB9 MJS9 FTC1 MFC TQX T2B. Each year, AKC honors the Top Dogs of each breed at a banquet held at the AKC Agility Invitational (AGI), with a Special Award of Merit based on the end of year rankings shown on the following pages. These dogs may, or may not be the dogs invited to compete at the AGI, as the dogs invited to the AGI are ranked with statistics from mid-year to mid-year (July 1-June 30). The ranking statistics are reported using the following score formula, (double Q’s x 10) + MACH points. Example 1,100 MACH points + (40 Double Q’s x 10) would equal a score of 1,500 points. This score is used to announce the Top MACH dog for the year and, to award special Award of Merit certificates to the top dogs for each breed annually. The lifetime statistics will continue to be ranked by Title/Points/2Q’s as in the past. We are looking forward to another exceptional year of Agility in 2013, which will include the exciting addition of the Lifetime Achievement titles in July.
