Marketing is directed toward a diverse audience of individuals likely to be interested in the visual arts. While the majority of the audience is from the metropolitan Denver area, a significant and increasing number of art patrons from around the nation attend. Jury Process Due to Covid-19, artists who were juried into the 2020 Cherry Creek Arts Festival were invited to exhibit at the 2021 event, CherryArts did not have an application/jury process this year. Artist Awards Prize money and an invitation to exhibit the following year jury-exempt are available for artistic award winners. The three jurors who are not exhibitors serve as judges. Artistic Awards are determined by consensus. Artistic excellence is the criteria for selecting the awards. Awards will be presented at the annual Artists Awards Celebration. Booth Space Upon acceptance into the show, artists may purchase a row, corner or double booth. These will be sold on a first-come, first served basis. Each exhibitor will be provided a space measuring 10ʹ deep by 10ʹ wide. Artists are to provide their own display booth, racks and/or tables in order to display their work in an outdoor environment. Booth Fee: 10’ x 10’ space $850 for a Row; $975 for a Corner; $350 for Emerging Artist Program. Also, there are a limited number of double booths available for $1900. Collaborative Work / Multiple Applications Artists must submit separate applications, unless applying as a team. If artists are accepted as a team they may only exhibit the collaborative work they were accepted for. Artists wishing to exhibit work produced in more than one media category must submit a separate application for each media. Only one application may be submitted per body of work represented. Multiple applications must represent either work in different media categories or distinctly separate bodies of work within one category. No advantage is gained by submitting multiple applications for the same body of work in multiple categories. Booth Fees / Acceptance of Offer to Exhibit An artist who is selected by the jury and accepts the invitation to exhibit, must return the signed contract and booth fee ($850 for a regular booth and $975 for a corner booth; $1900 for double booth; $350 for the Emerging Artist Program) to the Arts Festival by Friday, April 16, 2021. Failure to respond by the deadline may result in revocation of the invitation and immediate invitation of an alternate from the waiting list. Payment Plans are available for artists on an as needed basis, please contact CherryArts for more information. RULES OF THE SHOW 1. All work must be original, handcrafted work. Artist guarantees the accuracy of the description of the works presented and the authenticity of the work as the creation of their own hands. 2. Work done by a production studio is not acceptable. All work must be designed and executed by the accepted artist. 3. No more than two artists may collaborate on work. Both must be included on and sign the application. Both must be present at the Arts Festival. 4. Artists must be present with their work for the entire three days of the Arts Festival. Representatives may not attend in place of the artist. The Arts Festival requires photo identification at check-in to ensure compliance. 5. Artists may only show work in the discipline selected by the Jury. All work exhibited must be of the quality, category and body of work of that shown in the images juried. 6. Absolutely no reproductions are allowed (see special notes per media category). 7. Artwork produced with commercially acquired casts, molds, prefabricated forms, studio volume production or other commercial methods will not be permitted. 8. Evolving Artwork: The CCAF allows for a small portion (no more than 15%) of ‘new work’ as a gesture to allow artists to keep evolving into other bodies of work. In order to respect the decisions of the jury, here are the rules for an artist that would like to participate: new work may only make up 15% of the exhibit space; the work must be within the same discipline as the work juried into the show; and the ‘new work’ must be original, handcrafted work. The goal of this new program is to allow artists to continue to grow and change while maintaining the high artistic standards of the show jury process. If you have any questions or concerns please contact us at [email protected]. MEDIA CATEGORIES Media categories are used by the Arts Festival as a tool for organizing artists’ images into logical, related groups for the jury’s review.
