Since its inception, EEI, Nilokheri remained under Directorate of Extension, Ministry of Agriculture & Prof. B. R. Kamboj Farmers' Welfare, Govt. of India, New Delhi till January, Vice-Chancellor CCSHAU, Hisar 1991. But after that the overall Management and Administrative control of this institute was switched over to CCSHAU, Hisar. I am delighted to know that EEI, Nilokheri has developed 'Annual Training Calendar (2021-22)'. For this I congratulate Dr. Nasib Singh (Regional Director) and his team for sincere efforts in formulating this Training Calendar. Training needs of the functionaries are also duly cared while designing the training courses, I believe these trainings would be useful to all those extension ofcers who are engaged in agricultural development of the country. Kamboj) 3 Annual Training Calendar (2021-22) MESSAGE Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare, Govt. of India has established four Extension Education Institutes on regional basis to cater the training needs of middle-level eld extension functionaries working under agriculture and allied departments of States/UTs of respective regions and EEI, Nilokheri (Haryana) is one and oldest institute of the Dr. P. S. Armorikar country which is continuous organizing on and off campus Additional Commissioner (ET) Directorate of Extension, MoA&FW training as per need and requirement of extension Govt. of India workers/ofcials. I hope that Training Calendar (2021-22) will be helpful for client states/UTs of the EEI, Nilokheri. (P. S. Armorikar) EXTENSION EDUCATION INSTITUTE Nilokheri (Karnal) Haryana 5 Annual Training Calendar (2021-22) FOREWORD The Extension Education Institute, Nilokheri is the rst Institute of the country which was established in 1959 by the Government of India, carrying the responsibilities of organizing in-service training courses for middle level extension personnel of Department of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Horticulture, Forestry, Fisheries, State Agricultural Universities and SAMETIs of the northern Prof. Nasib Singh states of India viz. Punjab, Haryana, H.P, Uttarakhand, Regional Director Delhi, U.P, Bihar, Jharkhand and Union Territories of J&K and Ladakh . This Institute have good linkage and collaboration with ICAR institutes, MANAGE, NIAM, SAUs, SAMETIs and land based departments of clientele states for training and extension works. As we all are aware about the fact that development is generation of technologies in one way by the researchers and its application to farmer's eld by extension workers on other hand. So, keeping in view the fact and importance of 'Extension Methods and Skills' for Extension Personnel/ Worker/Ofcial the Training Calendar of 2021-22 has been prepared especially. I hope this Training Calendar of EEI, Nilokheri would be helpful to select those extension workers who are engaged EXTENSION EDUCATION INSTITUTE in farmers' welfare and development. (Nasib Singh) 7 Annual Training Calendar (2021-22) PREFACE The EEI, Nilokheri is one of the pioneer and premier training institutes of the country and established during 2nd Five Year Plan (1956-61). Government of India assigned the responsibility to organize in-service courses/trainings for middle level extension personnel engaged directly or indirectly in increasing the income of Dr. A. K. Rohila the farmers in present scenario. So, keeping in view the Training In-Charge importance and fact EEI, Nilokheri has planned 18 off- campus and 26 on-campus courses for the extension worker/personnel/ofcial of the northern-region of the country and from agriculture and allied departments. On-Campus Training (2021-22) 22 11 Annual Training Calendar (2021-22) BACKGROUND OF THE INSTITUTE The Extension Education Institute, Nilokheri, established in 1959 during the Second Five Year Plan period and was the rst training institute of its kind in the country. The Institute was primarily established as a Trainers' Training Institute to strengthen the competence of the trainers/instructors of Training Centre. Subsequently the Institute has been assigned the other responsibilities of imparting training to in-service ofcers of various departments including Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Fishery, Social Forestry, Rural Development and other land based development departments; along with imparting training to the Master Trainers/ Scientists of State Agricultural Universities (SAUs), Extension personnel's of Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), SAMETIs and NGOs etc. Besides training in Extension Reforms and Communication Media, the special courses are also being organized in the areas like Extension Management, Extension Methodology, Management of Training Programme, Entrepreneurial Skills, Market-Led- Extension, and Motivational Skills etc. Administrative Block 13 Annual Training Calendar (2021-22) AIMS & OBJECTIVES The main aims and objectives of the institute are following: ü To provide in-service training to staff of the State Training Institutes / Staff of Line Departments / State Agricultural Universities in Extension Teaching Methods and Communication Media. ü To organize workshops on Communication & Extension Teaching Methods/Training Methodology for Master Trainers/ Sub-Divisional Agricultural Ofcers/ Subject Matter Specialists working under broad based agricultural extension system. ü To conduct workshops in specialized elds like Monitoring and Evaluation, Supervision & Extension Management for Middle Level Extension personnel working under broad based agricultural extension system. ü To undertake programme of publication and production of basic teaching / training material as relevant to extension personnel. ü To have continuous programme of eld studies / research on Extension Education and allied subjects. View of EEI Nilokheri Campus 14 Annual Training Calendar (2021-22) CLIENTELE The Institute caters the training needs of middle level extension functionaries including Subject Matter Specialists, Sub Divisional Agricultural Ofcers, Agriculture Development Ofcers and other in-service extension personnel working in the Department of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Horticulture, Fishery, Social forestry, Sericulture, and Rural Development of the northern states and UTs viz. Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. Besides, these training programmes are also conducted for the Extension Personnel, Scientists and Master Trainers of North Indian State Agricultural Universities, Krishi Vigyan Kendras of ICAR and NGO's. Clientele States and UTs 15 Annual Training Calendar (2021-22) PHYSICAL FACILITIES AVAILABLE PARTICIPANTS' HOSTEL The Institute has a well-furnished participants' hostel having 24 rooms for providing lodging and boarding facilities to the participants. Dining facilities are also available inside the hostel. The hostel is used by participants of various on-campus courses organized at the main campus at EEI, Nilokheri. It also serves as a guest house for various dignitaries visiting the institute for ofcial purposes. Rooms have following facilities: w Air Conditioner w LED TV w Electric Geyser w Room Heater w Wi-Fi Facilities at Participants' Hostel 16 Annual Training Calendar (2021-22) TRAINING HALL The institute have seminar hall having seating capacity of 45-50 participants. It is being used for imparting training to the participants of various courses. Seminar hall is well-furnished with following facilities: § Air Conditioner § Interactive Panel § Wi-Fi Seminar Hall LIBRARY The Institute have good collection of books (about 3900) on Agricultural Extension and allied subjects. Library is also enriched with about 15 quarterly/ monthly journals and magazines. English and Hindi Newspapers facility is also available in the library. COMPUTER LAB The institute has a computer lab having 20 computers with internet connectivity and a projector for the training
