EAST RICHLAND CHRISTIAN SCHOOL BOYS UNIFORM DRESS CODE GUIDELINES K-6 CLASSROOM ATTIRE 1. Trousers – navy blue or tan uniform pants, no jeans or corduroy; no elastic bottoms. 2. Navy blue or tan uniform dress shorts – can be worn in August, September, March, April or May only. 3. Uniform shirts – Oxford or dress style shirts – button front, polo, or turtleneck. Solid colors: white, red, or navy blue. No t-shirts, sweatshirts, etc. 4. Sweaters – Long sleeve, button front crew neck sweaters, solid color: red, white or navy blue. (No hooded or faux layered sweaters, please.) 5. Socks – Solid colors: white, red, tan or navy blue. 6. Shoes – conservative style and color. Must have enclosed heel and toe November through March. Open heels may be worn August, September, October, April and May. NO work boots, flip flops, crocks or shoes of similar styles that do not meet the approval of principal/administrator. 7. Official ERCS Sweatshirt (A red, pull-over sweatshirt with the school crest, which is available through the school office ONLY.) All students are required to have the official East Richland Christian School sweatshirt for uniform use, both in the classroom and on field trips as requested. Zippered school hoodies (red or gray), fund raising items sold by the high school, may not be worn in the classroom except on dress down days. Zippered hoodies may, however, be used as outer wear for recess, etc. PHYSICAL EDUCATION (Gr. 5-6 only and at the discretion of the P.E. teacher with advanced notification) 1. Shirt – Any solid colored or ERCS logo t-shirt (not sleeveless or see through) 2. Shorts – Standard long basketball gym shorts, of any color. 3. Shoes – Athletic shoes with athletic socks 4. P.E. clothes are required for intramural activities (Grades 5 - 6). They may be requested for P.E. classes (Grades 5/6) at the discretion of the P.E. teacher. Advance notice will be given to the student/family. OFFICIAL ERCS FUNCTIONS WEDNESDAY IS CHAPEL DAY – THE OFFICIAL DRESS UNIFORM IS TO BE WORN. 1. Navy blue dress pants 2. White oxford shirt 3. Hair should be a conservative, standard contemporary cut, and only naturally occurring hair color. Hair length should not be over the collar, or longer than the bottom of the ears; sideburns should not be longer than the lower opening of the ear. 3. Shoes should be polished and in good repair and properly tied. NO FLIP FLOPS for safety concerns 4. Pants should not be torn. 5. Outerwear will be properly stored during inside activities. 6. Child’s overall appearance should avoid extremes and reflect a positive Christian testimony. Navy blue or tan (khaki) uniform shorts – knee-length, can be worn in August, September, March, April, or May (no sweat material) 3. Slacks – Navy blue or tan uniform pants (can be worn throughout the school year) 4. Socks – Solid color: white, red, khaki or navy blue (knee-hi socks, short socks, or tights); 3-6th grades may also wear neutral hose. 5. Blouses – blouses with buttons and collars or turtlenecks (plain, no logos) in the following solid colors: white, red, or navy blue. (This includes the three-button polo shirts.) A white undershirt may be worn under the blouse for warmth and modesty but must be tucked in so as not to be visible below the shirt. 6. Shoes – conservative style and color. Must have enclosed heel and toe November through March. Open heels may be worn August, September, October, April and May. Growing room should be allowed in choosing skorts, skirts, or jumpers to maintain proper length. 2. Jewelry should be minimized. 3. Makeup should be limited and not obvious. 4. Only naturally occurring hair colors, including hair attachments are permissible. 5. Outerwear will be properly stored during inside activities. 6. NO FLIP FLOPS for safety concerns 7.
