Esch Medical Director of Population Health Management and Regional Medical Director for Palliative Care TAMPA, FL (September 25, 2019): Chapters Health System, one of the nation’s premier not-for-profit, community-based healthcare organizations headquartered in Temple Terrace, names Andrew E. Esch, MD, MBA, as the organization’s medical director of population health management and regional medical director of palliative care for Pasco, Hernando and Citrus counties. He will start in this newly created position on Monday, September 30, 2019. “Chapters Health is thrilled to have Dr. Esch join our family,” said Andrew Molosky, MBA, FACHE, CHPCA, president and chief executive officer at Chapters Health. “Our organization is dedicated to innovation and being ahead of trends by putting ourselves in a position to offer unique solutions to the communities we serve. With that being said, Dr. Esch brings extensive experience in the management of seriously ill populations resulting in improved clinical outcomes.” Prior to making the decision to relocate to Florida and join Chapters Health, Dr. Esch served as faculty, consultant and member of the Advisory Council for the Center to Advance Palliative Care (CAPC) in New York, where he was responsible for the development of CAPC technical assistance tools and on-line training content as well as chaired its national seminar. He was the medical director for Hospice and Palliative Care of Orleans County in Albion, New York, and served as a consultant for Roswell Park Cancer Center in Buffalo. Dr. Esch provided leadership for the development of palliative care services for Lee Memorial Health System in Ft. Myers, Florida. In addition, Dr. Esch has experience in academia as an assistant clinical professor at the University of Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences where he developed clinical curriculum for the Palliative Care fellows, and as the director of graduate studies at D’Youville College in Buffalo where he had oversight of the physician assistant masters level program. “Dr. Esch brings a tremendous amount of compassion to the position, and his knowledge and experience in palliative care will allow even greater innovation for Chapters Health in its population-based approaches much earlier in the course of a patient’s illness,” said Dr. Ronald Schonwetter, FACP, AGSF, FAAHPM, HMDC, chief medical officer at Chapters Health. “With the addition of Dr. Esch, Chapters Health demonstrates our dedication to the future of changing the way community-based care is delivered,” added Molosky. --more-- Page 2: Chapters Health System Names Dr. Andrew Esch Press Release Dr. Esch received both his Bachelor of Science degree and his Masters of Business Administration from the State University of New York, Buffalo in its five-year accelerated program. He subsequently stayed on in Buffalo to attend the University of Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences where he received his medical degree. Dr. Esch completed his residency in internal medicine at the University at Buffalo Sisters of Charity Hospital. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in hospice and palliative medicine. In addition, Dr. Esch’s research has been published in a number of medical journals.
