Geboren 1919, wurde er mit seinem Trio in den frühen 1940er-Jahren als swingender Sänger und brillanter Pianist berühmt. In der zweiten Hälfte seiner Karriere bis zu seinem frühen Tod 1965 war Cole der Sweet-Sänger schlechthin.
