Carr went MIA in Laos on Jul 6 1971. He was riding in the back seat of an OV-10 when radio contact was lost. The crash site was found by three indigenous hunters in approximately 2012 and a joint US/SRV Advance Survey Team made an initial visit to the site in 2014. There may have been a subsequent survey visit to the same site in 2015. The crash site is located at or near grid 48P ZB 22377 74823 (using WGS 84 DATUM) at elevation 2387 meters, and is in the vicinity of Muong Hoong Village, Dak Glei District, Kon Tum Province, Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
