Frensham Sponsored Horse Ride 2020 Charity Reg 1092862 Sunday 3rd May 2020 9.00am until 2.30pm (last start) - Starting at Stockbridge Farm, Tilford, Farnham, Surrey GU10 2DA By kind permission of Mr & Mrs N Morland & Miss H Clarke The Ride will start and finish at Stockbridge Farm GU10 2DA (op. Tilford Church) in an 18 acre site with 20 foot wide access gates, ample parking with a ‘Courtyard Area’ with large marquees, hot and cold refreshments, with covered seating spaces, hospitality areas and toilet facilities. The ride is an all weather 10 mile cross country course on the beautiful sandy & scenic Frensham Common, Tilford, Rushmore and local private land, clearly marked with directional arrows with each jump flagged red on the right and white on the left and ridden mainly on grass tracks. Obstacles and road crossings will be attended and the route supervised by Stewards with radios who will be present throughout the day. All Stewards are there for your safety and have radio communication with the base station and access to our onsite paramedics with 4 x 4 capabilities on site. So please follow their instructions. Entry Fees IN ADVANCE: £32.50 --- ON-THE-DAY £37.50 Costs include medical cover by paramedics with 4x4 capabilities. If however, you are borrowing a horse and don’t have all the information required by Equo please use the postal entry process. 2: POSTAL ENTRY The Postal Entry Form can be download from www.frenshamSHR.org Alternatively you can request a Postal Entry Form by sending a self addressed envelope and your preferred START TIME, which can be any time between 9.00am and 2.30pm to the address Secretary: Frensham Sponsored Horse Ride c/o 2LK Design Ltd 17 West Street Farnham, Surrey GU9 7DR 3: ON THE DAY ENTRY - Payment by Cash or Card On Line & Postal Entry payments must be received by 30th April 2020. 1 Frensham Sponsored Horse Ride 2020 Charity Reg 1092862 All riders regardless of how they sign up for the ride must report to the organiser’s tent before commencing the ride so as to register and collect their number card and tabard for which there is a £1.00 deposit and on completion of the ride report back to registration and return the tabard. Once registered and with rider number and tabard in place, riders are then to proceed to the starter at their specified start time. Riders must ride safely and with consideration to other riders. Please ask before passing and pass in walk. Remember there are young horses and riders taking part! Horses sporting a RED tail Bandage indicates this horse could be liable to kick and if sporting a GREEN ribbon this horse is a newcomer and could be excitable. Please leave room to manoeuvre. Riders are politely reminded that this ride is not a competition, race or time trial and speed is not a consideration. Reckless riders will be warned and may be asked to leave the course. Riders must observe the Country Code, respect riders, walkers and cyclists using the bridle paths and must give way to traffic on all roads and observe the Highway Code. Equine Influenza Requirements: All Horses and Ponies coming to the ride must have had their first 2 vaccinations of the course and/or a booster within the last 12 months. 6 monthly boosters are recommended. Passports will be checked and failure to produce will disqualify the entrant from participation Sponsorship Forms The proceeds from the Frensham Sponsored Horse Ride will this year go to; Riding for the Disabled - Local people and other local worthy causes and charities in need of financial help. Course Mid Point Catering:- The ATC will run a refreshment point situated two thirds of the way along the route, GU10 2JN, for riders who may like to take a break and meet up with friends. Vehicles under 7.5 ton Vehicles over 7.5 ton FSHR All Ve hicles 3 Frensham Sponsored Horse Ride 2020 Charity Reg 1092862 Terms and Conditions Insurance is a necessity unfortunately; whilst the Farnham Sponsored Horse Ride (FSHR) run by the Farnham Hedgehogs (H/H’s) arranges insurance to protect its own liabilities, riders however must ensure that they are suitably insured for a public event. No claims can be entertained for anything that may happen to competitors, onlookers, their property, servants or horses in connection with or arising out of the cross country ride and other events. It is a condition of entry that each entrant shall agree to indemnify the promoters, organisers and landowners against any legal action, any claim or damage, loss or injury which results directly or indirectly from any action or negligence on their part arising from such accidents 1. Children (under 16 years) must be accompanied by a responsible adult of 18 years or over whilst on-site and throughout the ride. Children under the age of 12 must be escorted by an adult. It is advisable to carry at least one lead rope within each group 2. The organising committee (FSHR) reserve the right to refuse entry to any horse/pony which is in their opinion, is not fit for purpose. 3. All riders understand and agree that they ride at their own risk and have their own adequate insurance. So the entrant confirms to be in possession of insurance (or that of the owner if not the rider) covering their participation in this event and that it provides third party liability cover in the event of any claim for loss, damage &/or injury howsoever caused. 4. Horses/ponies must be over 4 years of age, be sound and in good health and must have third party insurance with current valid vaccination certificates. 5. All horses tack must be of a safe standard, properly fitting and checked by the rider prior to the start of the ride. 7. Riding hats which are secured at three points, correct PAS 015 or BSEN1384 standard must be worn at all times whilst mounted, along with suitable clothing and footwear. Back protectors that conform to (EN13158) BETA Level 3 are advisable 8.
