Team American ALL • Philip Montgomery is in his second season leading the Tulsa football program. EAST DIVISION • He became the 29th head coach in school history on Dec. 11, 2014. South Florida 3-0 6-1 • Montgomery has a 10-9 overall head coaching record with the Hurricane. Temple 2-1 4-3 • Montgomery claimed his first career head coaching victory in the 2015 Tulsa season UCF 1-1 3-3 opener with a 47-44 overtime win over FAU. UConn 1-3 3-4 • In his first year, Montgomery led Tulsa to six wins and to the 2015 Camping World East Carolina 0-2 2-4 Independence Bowl. Cincinnati 0-3 3-3 • He became the fifth Tulsa head coach to lead his first team to a bowl game. WEST DIVISION • Before coming to Tulsa, he spent seven years at Baylor, where he spent the final Navy 3-0 4-1 three seasons as the offensive coordinator/QB coach. Memphis 2-0 5-1 • Under his guidance, Baylor led the nation in total offense and scoring offense in Houston 3-1 6-1 each of his final two seasons.
