HAVERHILL HILLIES EVENTS AND INFORMATION Announcements Thursday, September 13, 2018 Please pause for a brief moment of silence… Please rise for the Pledge of Allegiance… Attention Students: First period – period A – which is also homeroom - begins at 7:25. All students are expected to be in their seat at the third bell. For the safety and security of staff and students all doors with the exception of the Main Entrance are locked after 7:25 and students will be required to enter the building through the front entrance, by the Main Office and receive a tardy slip. Students are not allowed through side or back doors at any point in the day and there will be consequences to students that open doors for them. In addition, for our student drivers, the Brook Street gate will be locked promptly at 7:25 a.m. All students will need to enter the campus through the main entrance after that time. Hillie Girls Soccer is taking on Central TONIGHT at 7:00 in the stadium! Come on out Hillie Nation and support the team! We wanted to take a moment to share that Haverhill High School now has a Gender Neutral restroom. This is located in the L wing near the Coffee Café and the back of guidance hallway. Access 21 is an enrichment program offered to students at Haverhill High after school. Classes offered are the Internship program, Glee Club, Life Skills, Robotics and Scrubs Club. Enrollment is limited in all courses/activities. Applications are in the main entrance and the deadline to sign up is this Friday, September 14th. HAVERHILL HILLIES EVENTS AND INFORMATION Attention Juniors and Sophomores: The 2018 PSAT/NMSQT will take place at Haverhill High School on Wednesday, October 10th. Juniors and Sophomores who would like to test may now register in the guidance department. The test fee will be $16.00 per student. This can be paid with cash or check. Fee waivers are only available to eligible juniors. Students must sign up by October 2nd and pre- registration sessions will take place after school on October 3rd and 4th. Please see you counselor if you have any questions. Today Thursday, September 13th There will be a brief meeting for the Model United Nations Team in room K32. VIP Team will have their first meeting of the school year today in A04. The Interact Club is the student branch of Rotary Club and is focused on community service and fellowship and fun. The Interact Club meet every other Thursday starting today at 2:10 in A-11.....new members welcome. Tomorrow Friday: The AV Club will be meeting on Friday September 14th in room A10. All are welcome. Next Week The Latin Club will have their first meeting on Monday, September 17th at 2:15 in F10. Officers will be elected and we will be planning our first outing. All are welcome to attend. The UNICEF/UNIVISION/Amnesty International Club will hold its first meeting Monday after school in room K32 with Mr. Simmons. All are encouraged to join! Starting on Tuesday the 18th and on Wednesday and Thursday next week the late bus will be running. On Tuesday, September 18th the Italian Club will be holding their first meeting of the year in room K13 at 2:05 and ALL ARE WELCOMED!!!! HAVERHILL HILLIES EVENTS AND INFORMATION After-school band class will have it first meeting on Tuesday, September 18th from 2:15 to 3:30 in the band room. The late bus at 3:15 is available if needed. The after-school chorus class will have its first rehearsal on Tuesday, September 18th from 2:15 to 3:15 in room A19. The late bus at 3:15 is available if needed. When at all Hillie events including athletic events, the administration expects all Haverhill Hillies to represent the school as the great young men and women we know that you all are. That being said, any derogatory language or gestures at the opposing team, fans, or referees from our student section will be dealt with swiftly and severely. If a student is caught using profanity or gestures, they will be asked to leave immediately from the arena. Also, they may face school consequences the following school day. Please show your Hillie Pride in appropriate ways! Students always need a pass to go to the Nurses’ Office even if in-between classes-please get a pass from your teacher first. Please do not call your parents to be excused from school if you are ill. In order to receive an excused dismissal for illness you must go through the nurse’s office. While in the nurses office please do not use your cell phone at any time. Students should not be in the halls after 1:40 for any reason with the exception of an emergency. If this is the case, they must have a pass. HAVERHILL HILLIES EVENTS AND INFORMATION HAVERHILL HIGH SCHOOL LATE BUS 2018-2019 Start date: Tuesday, September 18, 2018 Bus will run every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Bus will depart HHS promptly at 3:15 p.m. from the regular bus lanes. Students must have a LATE BUS PASS from their teacher in order to board the bus. Students are not allowed to roam the hall at the conclusion of their commitment. Student must sign in with the administrator in room S13 prior to boarding the bus. Riding on the late bus is a privilege, not a right. Students are expected to follow and adhere to all bus rules. Any violations of our policies and rules by a student may result in the suspension of the student’s privilege of riding the late bus. 9.5.18 .
