This newsletter provides information and support to groups in the AMERICA 2000 program (i.e., a program in which local groups encourage the adoption of the six National Education Goals, develop a community-wide strategy to meet the goals, design a report card to measure progress, and plan for and support a New American School in the community). Typical topics addressed include:(1) upcoming and past satellite town meetings focused on specific goals or issues;(2) upcoming and past workshops; (3) corporate participation; (4) activities of local groups; (5) award-winning schools;(6) relevant proposed legislation;(7) the New American Schools Development Corporation design teams; and (8) the role of libraries.
