Roll Call: Executive Director All attendees introduced themselves to the group. Morgan de Peña Tony welcomed Jim Baba from Baseball Canada and Megan Foster from Sport 925-5765 Manitoba Executive Assistant Brenda Horz 3. Verification of Quorum: 925-5763 A quorum was verified by Tony Siemens. Program Director 4. Approval of the Agenda: Jason Miller - Add 6.5 Megan Foster – Sport Manitoba 925-5764 Motion: (Curtis Grieve/Patti Hacault) “That the agenda be approved as amended.” CARRIED 4 Baseball Manitoba 2018 Annual General Meeting – Sunday, March 18, 2018 5. Approval of the Previous Meeting Minutes: - Correction on page 4 2017 AGM Minutes spelling correction “Stephenson” should be “Stephens”. Motion: (Nicole Madsen/Mike Anderson) “That the minutes of the March 19, 2017 Annual General Meeting be approved as amended. CARRIED 6. Business Arising from the Minutes None 6.5 Megan Foster – Sport Manitoba Tony introduced Megan Foster, Regional Sport Development Officer for Westman. She reviewed some programs offered by Sport Manitoba as well as Grants available. Encouraged everyone to contact their Sport Development Officer in their own regions if they have any questions or want more information. 7. President’s Report Tony encouraged everyone to read his report on page 10 of the SGM book. 2018 is the 50th Anniversary of Baseball Manitoba. We will have some events planned to have an excellent year. 8. Vice President - Finance Report – David Whitehead a) Reviewed General Income Statement – Year-to-date October 2017. Looking at some of the positives: In Competition there are more players playing baseball, for Umpires there are more umpires and good spending. In Coaching, more clinics and more trained coaches. Big hiccup in High Performance, with a $15,000 loss in 2017 for the Canada Summer Games. This could have been managed better. Everyone was reminded that this was a three-year program and the problems were recognized about half way through. We have several concurrent three-year programs running right now and must make sure
