An interesting cover houses Good Time Jazz’s first follow-up to their high flying Kid Ory Hi-Fi LP. This exciting jazz piece includes many of Scobey’s most popular recordings and a number of solid sides heretofore unreleased. Disk features the voice of Clancy Hayes on some of the tunes. Back cover offers bios and information about the artists in the band. Should be another big sell for GTJ. HERBIE HARPER QUINTET—Nocturne NLP1—Jazz In Hollvwood Series (1-10" LP) List: $3.85 JEEPERS LEAPERS; DINAH; FIVE BROTHERS; HERB STONE; SUMMERTIME; JIVE AT FIVE. The much discussed Hollywood jazz makes its appearance in a new series titled “Jazz In Hollywood.” Whether jazz is any different in Hollywood is a moot is variance WANTED point about which found a of opinion. However, the collection is a highly enjoyable set that swings along with imagination and taste. Herbie Harper is on the trombone as featured artist, with Bob Gordon, sax; Jimmy Rowles, piano; Roy Harte and Harry Babasin. Music is not loud and repelling. The soft treatment makes a fitting background for conversation too. Definite market for this package.
