He was trained under Ustad Zia fariduddin Dagar sahab and has been performing as a Ghazal Artist since 1973. He has also been involved with AIR and Doordarshan and is a Regular contributor to the Dhrupad Mandal, Ustad Allauddin Khan Academy, Rang Mandal of Bharat Bhawan and other cultural Forums and has given several Performances in more than 53 countries of Europe, Asia, gulf, etc. Zulfiquar Ali has also given playback for film songs, TV serials and Audio Cassette and video Albums.
