Public Transport Flixton Willerby Brow Ganton Sherburn Muston Flixton Wold If you are planning to walk the full route from Hessle to Filey then it is better to leave the car at home and travel by Public Transport. This could not be easier as both ends are connected by a regular rail service and there is also a bus service directly between Filey and Hull. FILEY Hunmanby East Heslerton West Heslerton Rillington Wintringham Thorpe Bassett This edition has been produced whilst there are still Covid 19 restrictions, but hopefully all accommodation will be available shortly. This is a delightful and quiet part of the country. This means that some pubs and cafés are closed at certain times of the week. Use this guide to ring ahead and check if places are open. MALTON NORTON North Grimston If you are walking stages of the Yorkshire Wolds Way over separate days you will find details of bus or train routes to each settlement along the ‘Way’ in this guide, though there is no public transport in the central part of the trail. It is highly advisable to book ahead as accommodation can become booked up especially in May and the Summer months when the route is most popular. It is also worth considering starting the walk mid-week in order to find accommodation or reversing the route by starting at Filey. Fridaythorpe Huggate European Visitors Great Givendale Millington If you are arriving at Hull using P&O Ferries, you should be landing at about 8.00am. The company will then provide a bus to take foot passengers to Hull Rail Station. From Hull Station, the easiest route is to catch the regular trains to Hessle. From Hessle Station, cross the railway bridge to the South and turn left on Redcliff Road. As the road bears left the Yorkshire Wolds Way starts on the right. Many will tailor-make a package to suit you. Long distance walking is a real pleasure, especially if you don’t have to carry a heavy bag.
