It was great to see him have his own title, even if it was only a Silver Surfer: Devolution issue mini- series. The art in this mini-series was great. Full of bright and vibrant colors; the images really shined off the page. That may have had something to do with the fact the trade was printed on glossy paper, but still. The High Evolutionary takes his Power Cosmic because whatever and then the fucking retard tries to terraform the moon! Also, Future Foundation because blah. Greg Hack strikes again! Morph rated it it was ok Shelves: comics-read-in This was another lacklustre Silver Surfer book, for me. I didn't really care for the artwork and the story left me cold, for the Silver Surfer: Devolution part. The Surfer seemed out of character a lot of the time and I wasn't convinced by his love at first sight with Suzi Endo. Still, it was nice to see the Fantastic Four again, even if it was minus the Human Torch. This story occurs during the Silver Surfer: Devolution time Johnny was 'dead'. Only in comics, folks! The story highlights the importance of the creation-destruction cycle to keep the galaxy alive. The High Evolutionary manages to disable the protective silver shell covering Norrin's body and collects a DNA sample that gives him the power of Galactus. Norrin opposes Suzi and, with Reed Richards's help, gets her to release enough power cosmic back into him that he regains his Silver Surfer abilities. He finds that he has retained his emotions as well. He and the High Silver Surfer: Devolution understand that each has an important galactic role, one to create, the other to destroy. Norrin chooses to return to his master's employ to once again save Silver Surfer: Devolution from Galactis's hunger. Sep 01, Judah Radd rated it did not like it Shelves: marvel-comics. The characters are paper thin, the Silver Surfer: Devolution lacks any Silver Surfer: Devolution of logic Skip it. This is a Silver Surfer: Devolution book. The art is what earned this the 2 stars. Otherwise it would be zero. The relationships and motivations are the weakest aspect. Seems like that should be a book all in itself and instead it basically happens off Silver Surfer: Devolution. At the most, he should be as powerful as the Surfer. This book seriously sucks. Dec 22, Kindle Ninja rated it really liked it. Silver Surfer is probably one of the most underrated superheroes in the Marvel universe. It's not for the dearth of good storylines, but the fact that he's just not the kind of character that everyone would gravitate to. Origin stories are always interesting, but stories that humanize superheroes are the best. Devolution did a great job of combining a solid story with stunning artwork. If there is one story Marvel fans need to read on Silver Surfer, this is it. Sep 09, Jason rated it really liked it. Nice wee short story with everyone's favourite cosmic surfer, the cosmic stories are always epic and fantastical as Silver Surfer: Devolution should be and Greg Pak story and the trio of artists for the series done it justice. Very enojoyable. Dec 02, Jennifer Juffer rated it really liked it Shelves: it-s-a-marvel-world-that-i-own. This is the first book Silver Surfer: Devolution read with the Silver Surfer as the main character. I'm hooked. I Silver Surfer: Devolution absolutely fascinated by his origin story, saddened by his past and hopeful about his future. Silver Surfer: Devolution art was good. It went well with the story. There weren't editing problems that, sometimes, muck up the reading. The characters were relatable. The story plot interesting. I definitely wasn't bored. Volume 2 can't get here quick enough!!! Dec 04, Nate rated it liked it. This wasn't my favorite Greg Pak book. It felt like more of a call back to Kirby era Surfer stories but less trippy and fun. The art is great and I felt like Galactus was grown with the terror and scale that the character deserves for the first time I've seen but overall this left me a little flat.
