Partners’ Update Oxfam GFFO project is planned to target Baiji, Balad and Shirqat, to find the potential place, assets replacement and agriculture grants, establishment of community committee especially in Baiji for project implementation, CFW technical assessment for different schemes under WASH and Health sectors in Balad with engagement of 330 CfW participants. BMZ project. A three years project, while first year is finished and second year started verification with partner for farmers support through agriculture grants to restock their livestock and establishing community saving groups. CCI-BHA MPCA target 248 for samara. Assessment will start as of the next month. Oxfam in partnership with its local partner SSDF completed the subsequent activities in the reporting month: • conducted market linkage even for BMZ livelihood activities in Smara Tikrit. • Vocational Skills Training and Provision of Start-up grants • Small Business Restoration grants (SBRG) • Agriculture and Livestock Support • Business Management Training • Extension GFFO, target locations are Balad and Shirqat and activities for public infrastructure rehab, assets replacement with traders. DRC BPRM project: targets Shirqat, Baiji and Tikrit and contains 3 main activities (Business and financial management grant for 112 HHs, Job placement for 135 HHs, and consumption support (MPCA) for 108 HHs. Achievements till July 2021: • BFMG: 111 grants in Baiji, Shirqat and Tikrit received the full (2) installments, and are in the stage of final follow up. • Job Placement: hired 149 workers in Baiji, Shirqat and Tikrit. They started the work in May 2021 for 3 months and got the 1st monthly salary, and the salaries of the 2nd month is in process. • MPCA (graduation approach/ not CCI): all rounds were distributed to 117 HHs in Baiji, Shirqat and Tikrit. Sustainable Livelihoods and Economic Recovery in Salah Al-Din Governorate, Tikrit District: The project started in Jan 2021 till Apr 2022. The goal is to target 2500 for CFW, 200 Asset replacement, 700 Business Start-up grans, 250 Business scale-up grants and 450 VT/JP. Achievements till July 2021: • Forming 13 Community committees and 18 meetings with CC in multiple areas in Tikrit to coordinate and check the needs and priorities on the area. • Finished 4 training courses of skills development training for CFW beneficiaries (5 days training) for 519 HHs and plan to start the 5th one soon. • LMA/ VC study to identify the market gaps, inform and guide project activities. The draft report was shared with the donor for final review and feedback. • Intake survey is conducted with more than 3700 beneficiary and still ongoing to cover 2500 participant in CFW. • Conduct coordination meetings with PIN to avoid the overlap in the livelihood activities in Al-Alam related to irrigation channel rehabilitation. BHA (CCI MPCA) The project started on May 2021 till Jan 2022 and the goal is to harmonize Multi-Purpose Cash Assistance for Displaced and Returning Populations in Iraq. Total number of NNFs is 320 HHs. Assessments and coordination meetings take place now in Baiji and Shirqat for intervention in these two districts. Achievements till July 2021: • Conducted meetings with Community committee of Baiji and local authority in Shirqat to explain the project overall activities and nominate the vulnerable areas for intervention. WORLD VISION: - Not Present Mercy Hands Mercy Hands (RPA-70 project in partnership with UNDP) targeting center Shirqat and center Baiji has started a new CFW activity for 144 BNFs to rehabilitate three public buildings (one in Shirqat and two in Baiji). • Started the agri-business linked with CFW activities and rehabilitation of infrastructures related to agriculture. • 570 BNFs are now mobilized under this activity. • Rehabilitation of infrastructures is represented in digging wells and installing solar system panels and extending electrical networks in certain areas. MH (RPA-72 project in partnership with UNDP) is keeping on the CFW campaign in whole Shirqat district, targeting: • 1250 vulnerable individuals to work for 40 days as a first phase. • This will be followed by a second phase of the same number of BNFs for 40 working days, as well. • The new 1250 BNFs are selected and now are receiving life skills training. • Registration of BNFs is also started for VT & OJT followed by job placement. • This training will be conducted by trainers from DoLSA. MH is implementing an agriculture project in partnership with WFP targeting Tikrit, Ballad,Al, Door and Shirqat districts. Project started in 1st April and represents in three main activities: lands rehabilitation, home gardens and cash for training. • MH rehabilitated 50 agricultural lands in Shirqat targeting 400 BNFs and assessment is done to target 50 new lands. • Follow-up is being conductied in Aziz Balad, Ishaqi and Rumailat for the pre- rehabilitated lands. WFP • WFP's cooperative partners in 2021 are Mercy Hands and PIN for agriculture and training projects. • Recommended to CPs to provide the project updates. Mercy Corps • WFP project under resilience project in SAD, three phases land rehab in Aziz Balad, Safi and Rumailat, total 15 lands. • Home gardens • CFT • Awareness raining with UNICEF ICRC - Not Present Arche Nova - Not Present. IOM • Ongoing projects are rehabilitation of Infrastructures in different locations, CfW and Micro businesses and are operational. • Enterprise development verification started in baiji and Shirqat. • Business plan training is in progress • Registration process will be initiated soon for the EDF support for small enterprise (small factories) in Baiji and Shirqat. North-East Foundation • Provided three months training consist of Agri, development and vocational skills. • 31st August grants will be closed, but requested for 3 months extension and in follow up for more one year project. COOPI • COOPI initiated a project continues for 12 months in Shirqat under the funding of Italian Agency for Development and Cooperation. The project represents in life skills and vocational training for 122 women and youth and business support grants. SSDF • SSDF in partnership with Oxfam has completed all the activities under 2021 of its BMZ funded project. • Next year activities are under review and planning stage. TDH - Not Present PIN The project is implemented in partnership with WFP. It’s in the initial stage. It involves Food for assets rehabilitation of infra system and small-scale green houses, extension services on agriculture. 1088 total caseload. FS/L IHF call is about to come as consortium partner. UNOCHA Access in SAD South: After OCHA several meetings and liaison with relevant security actors access in SAD south specially in Balad and Samarra’a starts being more smooth than before but in case of any access issue OCHA colleagues can be contacted. Returns: Return to Dooz area is very slow and still emergency support services are required. OCHA welcomes partners from Kirkuk who have access to support there. About 30 newly returned families to Etha village in Shirqat district (north SAD) have returned again to Jadda camp as a case of reverse displacement and the reason is not so clear. OCHA is planning to visit Shirqat; mainly for this reason. 5. AOB 6.Next Meeting The next EL Sub Cluster meeting will be held in the third week of August 2021 .
