Historical Note: The Loyal Order of the Moose was founded in Louisville, Kentucky, in 1888, and was a men’s social club that expanded into Missouri, Ohio, and Indiana. The order has since grown to include both men and women and has associations and lodges all over the United States, Canada, and Great Britain. In 1915, Carthage, Missouri, featured Lodge No. 839.
