<p> LITTLE ROCK ONCOLOGY NURSING SOCIETY JULY 17, 2008 CAJUN’S WHARF RESTARANT </p><p>OFFICERS PRESENT: OFFICERS ABSENT: Jackie Nelson, President Ellen Sullivan, President-elect Martha Galek, Treasurer Amy Marker, Program Chair Judy Jilka, Secretary Edith Landers, Membership Chair April Dumond, Grants & Scholarship Chair Sarah Karpoff, Nominating Chair Lindsey Melson, Fundraising Chair</p><p>Since the buffet was ready early, the business meeting was delayed till the members were able to get their food. The meeting was called to order by President Jackie Nelson at 6:50. A motion by Melanie Knight was seconded and approved by the membership to approve the June meeting minutes. Jackie Nelson thanked Maureen Smith, Anne Coleman, Heather Alverson, Natalie Griffith, and Lindsey Melson for their leadership in recent chapter projects. She presented those in attendance with plants from her collection. </p><p>OLD BUSINESS: April Dumond reported that she was in the process of developing Award and Grant guidelines that would be sent to all board members for approval. Lindesy Melson reminded members that the Skin Cancer Awareness project was to be held 7/19 at the Big Dam Bridge and would like some additional members to help hand out 250 packets .Martha Galek said she would also participate. There was no membership report. The program chair was not present, but Jackie Nelson announced that there would be a CEU meeting in the fall. The December meeting will be held December 11th due to the holiday season.</p><p>ANNOUNCEMENTS: Ann Coleman’s article is available on line in ONS Forum. Marty Usery volunteered to speak at the ACS “I Can Cope” meeting August 1st. Carol Godfrey announced there will be a Galley of Hope fundraiser art auction September 13 at the Peabody. Tickets are $50 and will include hors d’oeuvres.
