<p> Barbara Hickman, Principal Lajes ES/HS, Azores</p><p>Barbara Hickman has a Bachelor’s degree in English Teaching, a M.A.T. in English Teaching, a M.Ed. in School Administration from the University of New Hampshire and a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from the University of Oklahoma. </p><p>Dr. Hickman is certified to teach K-12 and has taught first, second, third, fourth, ninth, tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grades in both private and public school settings in New Hampshire and Texas as well as for DoDDS at Kitzingen Elementary School and Wuerzburg High School. At Wuerzburg High School she served in various capacities outside of the classroom-- Student Council Sponsor, School Improvement Leadership Team Chair, School/Home/Community Partnership Chair, Junior Varsity Boys Basketball Sponsor and Athletic Director.</p><p>Barbara has also taught Review Algebra, English, and Teacher Education classes for Angelo State University, Southernmost Texas College, City Colleges of Chicago, and the University of Maryland. When Dr. Hickman first arrived in Germany, she taught Advanced English as a Foreign Language courses at the University of Wuerzburg.</p><p>Barbara was the assistant principal at Angelo Catholic Elementary Schools (K-4 campus) in San Angelo, Texas, Bad Krueznach MS/HS in Germany until it closed and at Wiesbaden Middle School. Her most recent assignment was principal at Hainerberg Elementary School in Wiesbaden, Germany. She is currently the principal at Lajes ES/HS in Portugal.</p><p>Dr. Hickman served in the Army as a German and Spanish linguist. </p><p>Dr. Hickman has one son, Isaiah Hickman, who is a sophomore at the United States Military Academy in West Point, NY.</p>
