<p>Found on Onestop > Career Education Links > 9-12 Career Education 2</p><p>SCHOLARSHIP INVENTORY</p><p>SOME HELPFUL HINTS:  Check with:  Check your Career Cruising Portfolio Inbox for important scholarship Information o the particular college, institution, or university you are planning to attend to get information on specific scholarships, bursaries, etc. Many institutions publish this type of information in their calendars and on their websites. o your parent(s)/guardian(s)/grandparent(s) as scholarships, awards and bursaries are often awarded through places of employment or affiliation with a specific organization, union, etc.  READ THROUGH THE SCHOLARSHIP WELL IN ADVANCE OF THE DUE DATE.  You may need to obtain endorsements, reference letters, and write personal essays. This takes time to do well. Give at least two weeks notice!!</p><p>PROVIDE TO YOUR REFERENCES:  COPIES OF THE SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA. It is very helpful to know what to highlight in a reference letter in order to tailor it to the particular scholarship. For U of S scholarships and awards, indicate on the top right- hand corner of the reference letter which award(s) the letter should apply to.  A LIST OF ADJECTIVES OR DESCRIPTIVE PHRASES THAT BEST DESCRIBE YOU. This is helpful to writing reference letters.  A STUDENT PROFILE SHEET (blank copies are available from Student Services). Adults writing reference letters need this information in order to be specific. This will improve the quality of the reference. Some applications require a personal resume or profile.  Most institutions require a formal Transcript of your Marks. To ensure that the transcript is completed in time, please ask Holy Cross Student Services to process your transcript as soon as possible.  PRINT NEATLY OR TYPE. Scholarship committee members read many, many applications. Make sure yours is accurate and easy to read.
