Title of Assignment: Policy Planning and Evaluation (PPE) Team Member - PPE is the NOAA Research AA’s (Dr Spinrad) OAR Headquarters Action Team.</p><p>2. Level of Responsibility (e.g., GS13, GS14, SES or equivalent pay band): GS-14</p><p>3. Host Office (if in NOAA, start with Line/Corporate Office down to the lowest level - e.g., Division or Branch): HQ NOAA OAR PPE Silver Spring Maryland</p><p>4. Timeframe (expected start date, duration, any known time dependencies): Minimum Rotation would be 120 Days – Start Date anytime after 10 April 2006</p><p>5. Assignment Description (include goals/objectives/expected outcomes): - 1. Working on the Policy Team, or Program Team -- 2 Positions -- Aiding in the Development of Research Policy which involves Global Climate Change, Ecosystems, Weather and Ocean Science - 2. Developing an Evaluation Team Standard Operations Plan for OAR -- 2 Positions -- Mission, Goals, Procedures, Plans, Metrics, and Schedule</p><p>6. Potential Benefit to LCDP Participant (e.g., leadership competencies/skills to be used - see list of OPM leadership competencies at www.opm.gov/ses/define.html): - Learn Critical Thinking, Analysis, Business Acumen, Organizational Structure, Command and Control, Time Management, Increase Breath of Experience learning about </p><p>LCDP V Developmental Assignment Form.doc LCDP V DEVELOPMENTAL ASSIGNMENT FORM</p><p>(Data provided will be loaded on the LCDP website to be used by the program participants.)</p><p>NOAA Research (Oceanic and Atmospheric), Project Management, Interaction with Senior Scientists (involving IOC, SAB, NOC, NOSC, SRC, JSOST, SUAG, NEP, NEC, PCO, Legislative Affairs, Transition Board, RC, etc), possibility of giving briefings and travel.</p><p>7. Any other considerations, special requirements or comments: - Sense of humor important - Attention to detail - Positions involve a general understanding of Science -- Weather, Climate, Ecosystems, Water -- (Degrees in Science desired but not required) - Ability to write logically and succinctly - Office is busy, and the responsibility will be real - About half the current PPE Staff are PhDs - Self Starter - This office is busy Contact Information</p><p>8.
