Ever since I was 11 years-old, I have been volunteering through United Way whether it be stuffing mail or assisting with campaigns. Today, as a member of the Impact Council, my job is to measure the quality of the various programs to see if they fit United Way’s goals. I love having conversations during the reviews with clients who benefit from these agencies and seeing first-hand the improvement that is made through all of the programs. Being an Impact Council [member] is a positive contribution to the community because it is a way to provide your individual gifts and join with others and their individual gifts to create a stronger community.”</p><p>-Jane Hoyt-Oliver</p><p>United Way is thankful for people like Jane Hoyt-Oliver, who has been a member of the Impact Council (and formerly the allocation committee) for 10 years. Jane has a degree in social work, specializing in community organization and planning at Malone University. She enjoys interacting with other members of the community and has “deep respect” for those who love Stark County and work to make it a better place.
